RvW wasn't a bad buy, he wasn't played in the right system. He'd be better suited to Farkeball!

Man City have been banned from all European competitions for the next 2 years and given a £25m fine due to serious breaches of FFP!

But they're appealing and will likely be let off with a small fine.

Meanwhile, the latest chapter in the VAR saga:

"Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo says VAR is making players reluctant to celebrate and "in danger of becoming robots" following Willy Boly's disallowed goal in Friday's 0-0 draw with Leicester. The French defender's header was ruled out because Pedro Neto's heel was fractionally offside in the build-up."

Is that really what the off-side rule is about? A heel 'fractionally off-side' as Neto moved against the run of play. VAR is getting more and more ridiculous as players and fans have to wait 3 minutes to know whether to celebrate or not. :steam:

    Watched VAR decision on tv.
It was even worse than Pukki "goal" against Spuds

I see Man Citeh played Ipsquit in the Women's FA Cup today.

    Citeh just scraped through 10-0

I see Cameron McGeehan is playing for Portsmouth now.

I was so disappointed when we had to let him go, I had high hopes for him!

To be honest, he has since leaving us, never played at the level we have been at. Him being cut/sold was reasonable business allround, for us, he wasn't going to make it, for him, he wasn't getting and even now would not have had any first team football, he may well have improved for leaving and playing more (It was he who proclaimed the u23's as a player grave yard), though you suspect had he stayed, he would have had a similar journey with loan after loan all at similar levels or lower than the path he has trodden.
Well done him for carving out a decent footy career, but from Chelsea yoff, to u18 cup win with us, I'm sure we and he imagined a grander more decorated career.

    Bah!

You are correct in everything you say.

I wanted him to do well, unfortunately he didn't quite make the grade, though he had a few good games in the Championship <ok>

Virtually every player who has ever pulled on the old yellow and green I wish the best after leaving. Not Naismith, or maybe Grabbarse but pretty much all others. (Extend it to managers and the roedent joins that list)

Terrible shame so few from that cup run truly made the grade. Though to be fair to have two from that side play in the top flight statistically is better i imagine than most youth sides will manage.

    Bah!

That side pre-dates the sea change in coaching that has transformed everything from academies to the England side. Sad to say, but it meant those youngsters were destined never to reach the top, never having been coached to play the modern game. Josh M found a bit of salvation in the form of Neil Warnock, himself a throwback to the bygone era; Jacob M showed himself more adaptable (much to our benefit), but not adaptable enough to vindicate Benitez's judgement. Given the handicapped start, both twins have done well to make it as far as they have.

But was their start handicapped if their coaching was of it's time?

    Bah!
