Well im happy with that. We leave that game believing we can give anyone in this league a game.

Emi is a bit infuriating. Some great invention, but also spends way too much time losing the ball and throwing his arms in the air like a petulant child.

To be fair I don’t get to see too many games, he did ok today, some nice balls forward. But his passing is rash at times and he gives it away in bad areas.

Great performance again but once again nothing to show for it. Hopefully that will instill confidence for the coming games. If we can run Liverpool that close we can pick up points from here.

Can’t help but feel we needed to make our changes around about the 70 minute mark. 5-10 mins after it was clear that the Liverpool double sub had really given them the upper hand. That might have been a chance to tip the game back to us a bit.

Still, a couple of good chances and we could have been ahead in the first half - then the game proverbially wouldn’t have changed one bit as we still would have defended mostly, but it would have given us a chance of a point or more.

I don’t think that does too much damage to the confidence. We still have our easiest run (though they are now all must wins...)

I think we are genuinely the best bottom of the league side I’ve seen for years. We deserve something from almost every game we’ve played this season just haven’t been able to get the points for one reason or another

He passed up a shot near the end and tried to pass to Cantwell (I think); ended up punching the ball out of bounds.

Don’t disagree, but he also defended everywhere and it was his pass which nearly got an assist from our best chance.

No one was expecting anything other than a Liverpool win. We need to turn in performances like this and the Man City performance against our immediate competitors. I await the usual we need to defend better & we aren't competing in this league.

Actually i thought we defended pretty well. If any to take from this one, other than well done for coming through it with head held high, would be how easily we lose the ball.

Too often we are going for a low percentage pass to move the ball out of our own half. We need to be a bit smarter there. Save the lower percentage plays for when they might be rewarded by a goal.

Also throw ins. We lost a lot of possession almost immediately after we took a throw in.

If only Tettey's shot had gone in, instead of hitting the post. We deserved at least a point from this game, (Storm) Dennis came back to haunt us, beaten by a gust of wind.

Should of scored 1st half, Tettey hit the post and the best side in Europe nicked it with V.A.R .

    Still disappointed

agreed but unfortunately at times you have seemed almost determined to throw away points .

The Liverpool first team could comfortably pay for the entire running of our club with their wages .

Our throw-ins have been one of my pet peeves for a long time. I don't see why we can't have someone break into space and get the ball to them. Other teams do it. Also, Krul kicking the the ball deep in the air is giving up the odds (that's not a knock against Tim).

not entirely sure what that has to do with my point but i would imagine you are right . However i wouldn't be surprised to find that applies to Sheff Utd as well .

The disparity of resources were not a big factor in the eventual result.

Good performance, but frustrating too. As CS says we give the ball away too easily especially throw ins. I think Liverpoo pressured us better and stretched us much more with Mane on. Totally changed the game for me.
But I too was hoping and calling for changes as Liverpoo battered us second half. Buendia comes with frustions and risks but may just have given us some more ball.
Finally, Pukki. Totally found out now, I swear Alison pretty much stood inline with the far post knowing full well that He would not go for the gaping gap at the near post, it was a piss poor attempt of a striker found out or with zero confidence, very probably both.
Might be sacrilegious, but I think he should be dropped, he is so far out of form I think its actually disrespectful to Drmic to not give him a start.

    Bah!

the post you replied to was a general point about the fact you have lost points when you really shouldn't have / didn't deserve to & i'm unsure what the financial disparity between the PL "elite" clubs and Norwich had to do with it .
I like the way you have played this season just think that in the games i have seen this season you have lost points you shouldn't have .
