This could go 1 of 2 ways now which could see football change for the better or worse. First, UEFA's sanction is upheld and FFP rules stick and teams have to abide by it, hopefully to the letter! Second, UEFA is ****ed off, FFP rules disintegrate and it's once again a free for all and spend what you like! I appreciate this is UEFA but if Europe's governing body can't uphold FFP how can the EPL.
I think it will be the former. The big clubs won’t break away as the likes of Barca, Real and Milan couldn’t compete. In reality there’s only 5 or 6 clubs that are truly that free to spend, it won’t cause a meltdown and will hopefully cause a reform.
Hope so, although if we do end up being taken over by FPP and they wanna spend big, I hope it's the latter
I dont get the ins and outs of if all but how did they get away with the deals for Neymar and Mbappe?
Just same as City mate, overblown sponsorship deals with companies tied to their owners, although they did get a legitimately huge kit deal from Nike (Jordan) on the back of Neymar.
you know there lawyers will mitigate with the punishments handed out to Barca, Real,PSG, Monaco cos they only get a slap on the wrists
Apparently if a separate Premier League investigation finds them guilty of breaching financial rules, which seems likely to me if the UEFA ban for the same thing is upheld, they're looking at retrospective points deductions going back to 2012 (when the shenanigans started) which would mean at least one title win wiped out and probably two. Brutal.
It's all bullshit anyway. FFP exists so the big clubs can pull the ladder up behind them. If they were truly interested in fairness, we would have a salary cap.
Could be stripped of 2014 premier league title with Liverpool getting the title. Just been reading this over the road, if it happens what about the league cup final also. How would you feel about them being stripped and awarded to us https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-city-could-premier-league-21507158
