    The NFL is a sport/competition where

    • Teams succeed or fail on their own merits
    • No team is just making up the numbers
    • Any team can have a realistic shot of aiming for the title in time
    • Competitive, with different winners most seasons
    • Leadership that realise that a competive league is healthier than an uncompetitive league
    Frankly it is a damn sight better governed than any football league

    As for being for people with short attention spans, those are only people who lack the attention span to learn the intricacies 9f the sport otherwise they would see it's a highly tactical sport but need 90 or 80 minutes of pure running because they lack the attention span for anything more complex. Similarly for people who don't have the attention span for cricket

    Yeh, I want Scotland to get through though as I got tickets in the ballot for the England v Play Off Winner group game and that would be a whole different matter than either Norway, Serbia or Israel...!! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    I've been in support of that for a while. I don't see a downside. And it's a hell of a lot better than ditching it entirely.

    The big clubs in Europe don't care for it. The smaller clubs in Europe can't cope with trying to fight on four fronts. So leave them out, and let everyone else have a proper run at trying to win a cup.

    Eg we totalled binned off the FA Cup in the EL/League Cup season - our 4th front that season - with our third team losing 5-0 to Arsenal's second team.

    Never seen it. I just don't like the way Americans pronounce 'Jaguar'. The say 'Ja-gwar'.

    While I'm at it, I also don't like the way they drop an 'a' from 'caramel' to make it 'carmel'.

    Wow! What has happened to the supply of riches that came from their famed academy? Are they following Manchester United in a downward spiral and signing journeymen footballers? It contrasts with that of Real Madrid in signing young Brazilians.
