Hello and welcome to the 'West Ham v Saints positive, there is no way we are getting relegated and we are looking up not down' thread!

Saturday sees the meeting of the THIRD out of three claret and blue teams that we meet on the trot.

POSITIVE: We will have beaten our last two teams in Claret & Blue come Saturday 5pm

West Ham have been in turmoil this year after a promising start that had ridiculous talk of Champions League

POSITIVE: The only league with the word Champions in it that West Ham are going is the Championship.

Saints go into this on the back of a convincing win against Villa who will now be hoping that we do them a favour and don't let West Ham go above them in their week off. (By the way, Pepe Reina may miss the Cup Final as he is still running back to his goal from the Northam End)

POSITIVE: We are everyone's friend. Such a nice team. We will help Villa and give Bournemouth false hope for another week.

West Ham go into this winless in forever, but we know that isn't a problem as they have Moyes in charge, and winning games is what he does.

POSITIVE: We know that Ralph puts his money where his mouth is and actually does deliver wins for Saints.

Saints away form this year has been incredible, and we travel well in London, winning our last two league games there.

POSITIVE: We are more likely to win away than at home, and we now win at home, so an away win is assured.

West Ham are desperate for the points after sadly blowing a 2-1 lead at Anfield. They took heart from their performance, but we will soon put a stop to it in the taxpayers stadium.

POSITIVE: The atmosphere when we go one up in the stadium will be toxic and that will only help one team...and not West Ham.

I really cannot see beyond another away win for us, West Ham need the points, we are millimetres from assured safety and to be fair may have done enough already.

    My team for Saturday:

    McCarthy

    JWP, Bedders, Stephens, Bertrand

    Armstrong, Smallbone, Pierre, Djenepo

    Ings, Long

Perhaps Romeu in there for Dick Smallbone in case West Ham play their normal dirty way.

We really have this, no negativity needed here, come 5pm we will be a whopping 13 points clear of the drop and only 4 or 5 points from Europe.

    COYS!!!!!!

If, Saints being comfortably ahead, we were to witness shocking scenes of West Ham fans turning on each other and having to be ejected by stewards, I would be appalled, and not remotely amused. It wouldn’t be an added bonus to a brilliant afternoon at all, if that happened.

They've got a protest march too haven't they?

Hopefully we can play on that.

    Didn’t know that.

Wtf are they protesting about, the free stadium at the taxpayers expense, or the £155million net spend over the last three years?

Or just the fact they’re a laughing stock and don’t even warrant a mention on @Hoddle is a god ’s DOLL thread?

    Wtf are they protesting about?
    ---------------

Bloody good question. When you try and pin point the problem, well its the same for a multitude of clubs. If Everton don't finish in the top eight, should they have a protest march? If Mike Ashly blows another £40M on a flop, should they protest? Christ, we've been dragged through the mud, but sometimes you just have to believe that people are trying to put things right. You can cause far more damage when your team are so close to the line. But maybe that's the endgame. Relegation to force their hands. Sounds like a case of be careful of what you wish........

TBF we've had a few idiots in the past* declare it's a good thing to get relegated if it gets rid of whoever is top of the enemies list at the time. Easy to get relegated....not so easy to get back up. Ask a Leeds' fan or a Saints' fan in more recent times.

*Not on here because we are all positive, intelligent folk:rolleyes:

My dislike of West Ham is not so much for the club itself, but for the three arseholes who are destroying it. Yes their fans can get ugly at times but they are hurting for their club, and the memories of what it once was. It was a great team to watch all those years ago but the idiots in charge have peppered the team with goons and non-performers. No wonder the fans are on the verge of rioting.

A good clean honest win for Saints and some compassion for another set of fans who are being screwed over by revolting owners would be a good way to go. We could do worse than demonstrate some solidarity with fellow supporters because we could all be where they are.

Right enough there Kaits, I've been to Upton Park when WHU were a much respected team playing attractive footy. The evil three have destroyed that rep. Bloody shame. Oh, a sudden urge for pie mash and liquor.

Really hoping our good away form continues into this one. West Ham looked to have plenty of fight in them at Anfield so we'll have to be on our game. We've lost 5 of the last 6 to this bunch of cockney spivs, we're well overdue a win.

One things for sure, you'll always get a warm welcome from those cheeky cockney chappies dahn the old East End

    Hopefully like this

    But more likely this

Hopefully we'll be seeing plenty of this

I know they're detestable people, but please excuse my ignorance...why are they supposedly such terrible owners? They've swindled a big shiny new stadium for next to nothing, and consistantly spend a lot of money on players. Okay their startegy when it comes to football and buying players may not be the best, but that hardly makes them the worst owners in the world. You could get far worse. Feels like a case of West Ham being West Ham and having an inflated opinion of themselves to me. There very well may be more to it then that, I try and not pay too much attention to that club.

I don’t actually mind West Ham. Not really sure what they are so bothered about or why Gold/Sullivan are such terrible owners? Seem to have done alright to me in terms of getting them a new stadium and investing a fair amount in players (all be it the players haven’t turned out great in the main)

Think this will be a score draw

  16. I think the pornographer owners want the best for the club, and they have spent a lot of money.

However, the Prem is simply too big for them and they cannot compete. Even If the owners could buy the kind of players that they would like (which they cannot), they couldn’t afford the wage bill.

It’s the same with Ashley and Newcastle.

Unfortunately for both these clubs, they have owners who, whilst being wealthy comparatively to the average fan, are small fry in the grand scheme of things.

WHU will either be a decent championship side under the current owners, or need to get serious-level investment from outside, either as the result of an outright sale, or from a floatation.

  17. Not sure what happened to West Ham’s youth academy.

That use to be very good.

Perhaps it’s been eroded by other London clubs upping their game?

West Ham always used to guarantee striking it rich with three or four youngsters being sold to bigger clubs. That avenue of income appears to have disappeared.

This should be a good game. I think they will come out and attack us which suits us and it's an away match. Also KWP is back in training so he might feature. Feeling positive.
