Lee Bowyer has a nice plot - but he has resigned

    • Horrible, ugly Route One football tonight. Asking clodhoppers Pearce & Oshilaja to play from the back
    • Alfie Doughty - FFS - what is going on with the kid ?
    • How is Matt Smith better than Albie Morgan ?
    Parking the bus after ten mins, showing very little attacking intent when the teams around you at the bottom are all winning.

    Worrying times.

    Bowyer is presumably trying to limit damage, having been let down badly by Matt Southall.

    He almost got away with an undeserved point tonight.
    But circumstances are conspiring against him as well now, with more injuries piling up again.

    This is exactly what we all predicted would happen if ESI did not invest properly in Jauary. And they didn't.
    Sacking Bowyer now will just mean a big pay-off for him.

    If Charlton go down, they go down.
    Who would you trust to get us back up again;

    A) The manager who did it last season?
    B) Some stranger brought in on the cheap by Matty the liar.

    Spot on @lardiman

    that performance has p1ssed me off tonight.

    Southall is all hot air ...he sold Bowyer down the river in January. That said, Bows is NOT helping himself at the moment.

    If Bowyer told Southall that we didn't need to strengthen the CB position, that Pearce and Oshilaja were fine, and that he gave Southall a list with Smith Davis and McGeady and said that was all we need, then he should be sacked. Can't see it somehow.

    We have got to stop going to away games with the sole tactic of sitting deep & kicking the ball away for 90 mins. It’s hopeless.

    It just encourages the opposition and gives them confidence. The Massive must have been low on confidence to start with, not having scored at home this year. I was in the 5 Bells following the live text and even then you could see the familiar pattern developing. I know that the tiny budget is down to Roland, but Southall and ESI have endorsed it, and now we're battling to stay in a division with players who aren't good enough for the division. 4th bottom will be a terrific achievement.

    If you go to the massives to defend then why start both Taylor and Bonne ?

    I commented to my son during the game, we clearly started time wasting after about 25 min :emoticon-0101-sadsm...that must come from the management.

    Bonne was anonymous last night.

    Maybe it's more a case of not having players who are good enough to keep the ball and string a few passes together.

    A very accurate comment seen on another forum. We are a League One side with a smattering of quality. That palpable lack of quality should have been addressed in January, and wasn’t. Lee Bowyer’s negative tactics are now adding to the problems.

    It seems to be a Charlton thing... with SCP … when we won L1 we attacked in every game and finished with 101 points but when we went into the Championship (and after SCP went to do his FIFA Pro Licence with the FA) we became far more defensive and that stupid policy of bringing on an extra centre half at 80 minutes became the norm <grr>!!

    Even at Swansea away with a team of kids...we tried to play football.

    There was a comment I saw on CL which said we had a free kick in their half in the 93rd minute, which we sent back to Phillips. 30 seconds later, they scored. i mean what the actual f&""k? From that position, why not lob it into the box, and maybe pick up a deflected winner. Sending it back to our keeper invites them onto us. I was gutted for the team after the Hull draw, and their were a couple of other sucker punches this season, but last night we brought that squarely on ourselves by not attacking.
    There is little point in playing two strikers if the rest of the team are so far back they are out of contact. Last nigt, we were up againts an out of sorts team who hadn't scored a goal at home this year. I followed this on CL, and it sounded like one way traffic. We changed nothing at half time and the second half started worse. Had we nicked a point, it would have been luck - our game management entirely depended on the Massive's inability to score from all their chances, so while I was so gutted I couldn't even post coherently last night, this morning it's just anger. All the teams around us won - some against better opposition. We needed a win, but we sat ack and cowered.
    Huddersfield needs a better mentality, or this will repeat on saturday.

    Imo Bonne's a penalty box player, and a good one, but in a game like last night that's no good.

    i saw phillips last night berating the defenders for silly mistakes. he's up against it with our back four... it's just simple things like heading, or out fighting players. the goal was pathetic - the center backs almost stopped like they were expecting a free kick.

    @Ken Shabby

    we sat so deep we ended up with a Back 4 in the Leppings Lane End.

    It was very reminiscent of a José Mourinho away performance against a top European side ...where you spend the whole game kicking the ball away and just waiting for it to come back.

    There was a 50 yard gap between our back ( (?) and Taylor up front.

    I can’t understand how Lee Bowyer thinks we deserved a point.

    Bow seems to be morphing into the Scouse Gob :( … however we perform, we were unlucky, it gets a bit embarrassing after a while.

    I always said I wouldn’t criticise Bowyer, but he’s lost the plot lately.
