I see Steve Bruce has stopped his players shaking hands with each other because of Coronavirus. What will happen just before kick-off, will they ban shaking hands with the other team?
Premier League clubs have stepped up their scouting teams abroad as they take advantage of relaxed post-Brexit regulations on home grown players. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...epartments-ahead-post-Brexit-regulations.html
Will they all wear protective masks too - including the officials ? That'll make life hard for the ref trying to blow the whistle through a face mask - maybe they'll be issued with little hooters like circus clowns.
Or do what the drillers used to do whilst drilling in asbestos likely areas, melt a hole through the mask with the cigarette so that they can smoke it whilst wearing the mask. So maybe melting a hole with a metal whistle would work except the pea would burn haha
From the Beeb: Posted at 13:24 Post update So there is no change for now but Uefa will hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss their response to the coronavirus outbreak. The governing body says all domestic leagues, the Champions League, Europa League and Euro 2020 will be up for discussion. Big.
From the story by the BBC: "All three players were subsequently advised by NHS 111 that their symptoms were consistent with common seasonal illness and that a seven-day period of self-isolation was appropriate as a precaution." From the twitter you posted: "Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that a few Leicester players have shown symptoms and signs of the coronavirus so they have been kept away from the squad. (Source: @Lcfc)" These don't sound consistent to me: "their symptoms were consistent with common seasonal illness" vs "a few Leicester players have shown symptoms and signs of the coronavirus". The first suggests a cold or flu, while the second says coronavirus.
Problem is the symptoms are pretty much identical. I think this season may well be close to over, sadly. Coronavirus is embedded now.
If it is over, will the FA leave the standings as they are do you think? Or would there be a playoff system to decide who gets relegated?
It will be us, Villa and Bournemouth to go down. Can see a lot of wrangling ahead. Especially from Villa who will argue that if they won their game in hand....
I was wondering if they will get the bottom 6 to play a playoff. Are there any rules other than making the season null and void? I suppose in 1939 they may have just played a game or two by September and I doubt it carried on long/ at all after war was declared
