The man’s deluded. Not you OLM, McCann. If his way of playing works; losing every week and having our goal difference shot to pieces, he needs to shake his head. Earlier in the week he was saying we’ve been playing too safe, well I dread to think how many we’ll lose by when we start taking risks. He needs to drop the 433 bollocks and realise we need to batten down the hatches, we can’t afford to have the teams in and around us taking points off us, string 5 across midfield so teams can’t just run straight through us.

I have to work with a staunch Stoke supporter, the grief is bad enough at the moment, I don’t even want to contemplate it, if we lose. A desperate Tigress.

Well, I suppose you could say his way was working reasonably well upto late 2019, when we had a fit squad, Bowen and Grosicki. Now we haven't and it's all gone tits up so his final statement is clearly bollocks. I'd have been embarrassed to have come out with that myself.

He does not have to change.
At worst the club sack him and he gets a job somewhere else eventually I am sure he will never have to worry about his gas bill.
I have said it before he is a incredibly arrogant coach for someone who has achieved very little
Maybe that's why he gets on so well with the owners because we the fans are meaningless at Hull City so our opinions count for **** all though we alm know he has to change his tactics.
That aside I'll be going to Stoke on Saturday to back the team because if we do go down we are well and truly ****ed!

HEAD COACH GRANT MCCANN SPOKE TO THE MEDIA ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON AHEAD OF THIS SATURDAY’S SKY BET CHAMPIONSHIP AWAY GAME AGAINST STOKE CITY.
Here are the key points from his pre-match press conference:

    On Team News…
Josh Bowler is getting close. He’s been out on the pitches with the fitness coaches and is looking better. Herbie Kane is probably a couple of weeks away, the same as Reece Burke, Jordy de Wijs and Jon Toral. Josh is the closest to coming back and maybe if we can get him back on the pitches (with us) next week he might have a chance for Charlton but he’s been out for a bit of time now so he’s going to need some conditional work to get him up to speed.

    On Angus MacDonald…
We’ve been delighted with Angus and he was gutted when the Under-23s game got called off last week because of a waterlogged pitch. He’s had at least three weeks now with us on the pitches and he’s in a good place. He’ll play a part in the Under-23s on Friday along with one or two others. It’s a massive step for Angus from where he was three or four months ago. He’s looking great. He puts everything into training every day and he’s an inspiration for everybody really – the fact that he’s come through what he has come through and now he is going to be playing his first game for well over a year. The way he has bounced back is a credit to him. He’ll play 45 minutes tomorrow. It’s important that we ease him in.

    On The Coronavirus…
There’s a lot of signs gone up around the training ground about washing hands for longer than usual but there’s nothing over the top. It’s just about making sure that everyone stays hygenic.

On The Mood Ahead Of Saturday’s Game…
The players are good and they’re in a good place. We’ve had a good week and we’ve mixed it up a little bit. We trained at a different venue in the early part of the week and it was good to get them all together and do some different stuff with them. We took them to St George’s Park and it was something different for them. It was a good opportunity to do that with ten games to go. Psychologically it’s sometimes nice to take the group and do something different and I’m thankful that the Club has allowed us to do that. We came back into Cottingham today and it has been a good week. We’re only looking forward. What’s done is dusted and we’re only looking to be as positive as we can. With ten games to go, my message to the players is how many can we win? We focus on the next one which is Stoke and that is going to be a tough game but we feel confident and in a good place that we can go there and put in a good performance.

On The Game Against Stoke City…
Every game is big. People will dress it up as a six-pointer and things like that but we don’t. It’s the next game and the next one that we want to go and perform in to try and get a result. We’ve been working hard this week to get everybody focussed and ready for Saturday. The experience that these young boys are getting at this time – I’m really excited about the future of this football club with them. Just because we’ve lost some games recently doesn’t mean we rip the play-book up and do something different that we haven’t done all season. We’re focussed on making sure we deliver a good performance.

Not sure why so many folks focus on tactics.

To win games (or avoid defeat) you need:-

    - some pace in the team
    -some tough midfielders
    - a goalscorer
    - resilient team spirit and never say die attitude
    - ability to defend and score from set pieces
    - a playmaker / expert passer
    - a settled team who know each others' strengths and weaknesses

I don't see any of the above.

Not bothered about tactics, if we don't have the basics we won't win.

Yes. I'm the same re really wanting him to do well. He's also pretty quick I think. But at Championship level it seems to me a defender has to be switched on and bang on it for 90 minutes , and he doesn't seem to be there yet.

    He speaks.

This interview is slightly concerning. Grant seems delusional as he says a few times we have been one of the best teams in the division? At no point in my opinion have we looked like one of the best teams, we’ve looked ok when we had B&G, but nowhere near a top side.

You don’t change your style of play? So, he’s going to play the same way he has in the previous 10 games that have yielded 2 points.

Grant, you are going to get us relegated.

Once again can't see us getting anything from this game, Terry is starting to annoy me a bit, as he just doesn't seem to grasp the dire situation we are now in. I accept that injuries have made life difficult for him, but he should at least say how precarious our situation is at present.

I hope we can do enough to get out of this mess, as this team will be better next term IMO, probably not top end but mid-tableish.

    Definition of insanity?
Says something about "... 'my' style of play can be successful when you have the right players". Does he not realise by now, he simply hasn't got the right players for 'his' style?
So naive. A manager has to use what he's got to the best effect, not try to fit them into a set model. So basic.
Hoping to hell he proves us wrong somehow.

Not sure what the benefits of such a jolly are.

I agree I remember Browny taking the players away somewhere before a crucial game against Bolton and it had the desired effect.

    Good thing to do.
But then, 2nd day, to get real about the situation, and to find a way to get out of it ... which is unlikely to be to just keep doing the same thing.

You may be right, but for all our sakes I hope we don't drop into Div1, if so, I can see us languishing there for a few seasons.
