The biggest problem, for us, should the season restart in April is that it will almost be like starting a new season and we don’t tend to come out of the blocks that quickly. Having said that, we did manage to get 8 points in our first 9 of the season, so it would be enough to see us safe.
There's absolutely no chance of the season starting again in April. It's only about three weeks away! Only chance is if the Euros is binned off and domestic to play May/June. Still can't see that happening though personally. Season is void. Unlucky Liverpool, maybe next year.
Yeah, April 4th isn't happening. And yeah, cancelling the season* is surely the most likely outcome from here. By some distance the most likely, I'd say. I'm struggling to see another realistic option. (*Or at least the league season. With the cups, I guess they could cancel next season instead, and use that to finish off this season's cups. Unlikely though I'd say.)
Yeah. It'd be a remarkably good sign if games are being played by the time next season is meant to start.
When considering how we bring this season to conclusion, if as we all expect it is abandoned, then take logic & sentiment out of the equation. The people who decide prefer money. Maybe we should just let VAR decide.
It's been mooted euro 2020 becomes 2021 allowing the leagues throughout europe to complete. Summer footy OK by me string vest (R/W), knotted hanky and shorts ready to go.
I can certainly see the Euros delayed until 2021. But I'm very sceptical right now as to whether that would allow the season to be completed.
How the hell is Lallana going to sign that mega deal at West Ham when he's still expected to turn out for L'pool in July? Riddle me that.
