As there is no football to engage us at the moment, I thought that to cheer us up (as even with football recently it’s not been a bundle of laughs). I would start a thread for people to post clips of goals, matches, or anything Spurs related to remind us that there have been good times and why we all love our club and the beautiful game. I will start with these 2 These match highlights seen on the Big Match 1971 confirmed me as a Spurs fan And this needs no introduction Now over to you
After sooooo many years of frustration, the end of this season was like a fairy tale.... I remember watching this the afternoon before the City game and just about daring to dream that we could make the Champions League.
On my phone so can't find them but my fabourites... 1. Spurs 9 Bristol City 0...Oct 1977 After my first 3 years being a spur I finally had something to crow about! 2. Southampton 0 Spurs 0...May 1978 Longest 90 mins of my 10 yr old life as I listened to us win promotion on the last day of the season. 3. Hoddle scoring a stunning Volley v Forest and then a week or two later another against Man Utd...both on tv in the days when only 4 or 5 games had highlights. Pretty certain one stsrted with a kick out from our keeper and the ball never touched the floor until it hit the back of the net. 4. FA Cup semi final replay April 1981 v Wolves at Highbury. My first Spurs match...WHAT. A. FANTASTIC. NIGHT. 5. THAT goal by Ricky Villa...just WOW! To watch us lift the FA Cup was amazing ... even if it was just on a portable black and white tv. COYS
All fabulous memories. I was at them all, except for the Southampton game...and you're right, it went on forever...and ever...and they hit the post right near the end.
