If people won’t form an orderly queue... why not take the food to the NHS staff?

A good idea would be to keep some essential stock away from the shelves in the back primarily for NHS and key workers, and if you show your NHS ID to a staff member you are given some of that stock.

This happened last week here, where the lockdown started 10 days ago. It was seen as extra holiday time, so families going skiing, hiking, playgrounds etc. Car parks, shops all packed. The government had to make the rules more rigorous - banned alcohol from being served in bars and restaurants, closing car parks in busy areas and £1500 fines for those driving out to second homes/cabins in the countryside. There's still problems and so later this week, it might go like in France where cars are stopped and drivers questioned as to the nature of their journey.

There isn't the stockpiling problem that the UK seems to be having regarding the shops. I wonder why it's so bad in the UK, when the government have already said there is no problem with supply lines. But if the online media and twitter is to be taken as a microcosm of reality, a lot of Brits don't seem to give a **** about their parents/older family.

I run the catering provision for a High School. It has 1300 students enrolled, with average attendance being 1200. Of those , just over 1000 choose to have a school lunch.

Tomorrow, all my staff have been told to come in and cater for the 170 pupils, whose parent/guardian have requested a space for their child/ children because they are key workers. 45 teachers and other support staff are also at work.

After assessing who actually turns up and how many staff are needed to provide cover for those children, the school will pur together a rota.

Easter holidays will also need to be cancelled due to Key Worker parents/guardians being at work.

My team have shown a truly exceptional attitude to what the school excepts of them and are willing to come in do whatever is necessary to help in these unprecedented times and I couldn't be more proud.

Our department also has the highest percentage of staff still in school than any other department.

Take care everyone. It's getting serious.

I work in a huge supermarket and I hope we start making people wait outside. Crowds of people inside getting in each others faces and potentially infecting staff that are already at risk and exhausted, Yes I get that it is creating a problem with people bunching up outside but people should be more patient and take to steps back, police themselves. So the choice, bunch up outside and infect each other but give the staff a bit less risk and relief or bunch up inside and infect each other and the staff?

You’re all wasting your time babysitting key workers kids, there’s better things you could be doing.

Seeing all these inconsiderate thick ****s crowding out seaside towns, national parks, shops and other public places I have come to the conclusion that the human race is a ****ing great bunch of arseholes.

Day 5 of self-isolation btw. I'm going slowly up the wall. Loads of stuff to do around the house but need paint, wood etc. ****ing fed up and need a beer.
