I agree with you, but my respect, along with many people, will not be new found.

It's got to be troops Ernie as I predict that some lowlifes are going to try and take advantage of the situation and begin committing crimes knowing that business premises are empty. The coppers are going to have their hands full I fear.

How many people attended Boris Johnson's press conference today? If its not ok for my daughters to visit their mother then why is it ok for him and the Deputy Chief Medical Officer to be in a room of journalists, civil servants, politicians, camera crews, technicians etc. Maybe if he wants Britain to practice social distancing he should lead by example and start with his press conferences. We've had the technology to do video conferencing for over a decade.

The country should be in lockdown now!
If we think we are two weeks behind Italy, Spain etc then why the **** don't we just lockdown now?
Businesses are making their own decisions to close, and more and more of them are following suit, so why delay the inevitable.

    and yet
Thousands of passengers from Italy, China and Iran arrived in Britain this week
passengers with symptoms are supposed to have not been allowed to board at their end...

this is at heathrow and once here they are told to self isolate for 14 days and then they are allowed to go on their merry way. I can see london soon becoming the epicentre of a massive outbreak if it isnt already.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-Britain-despite-UK-coronavirus-lockdown.html

just how the fcuk is this allowed to happen?
    flights still arriving today ffs

i know its already here and spreading but surely its asking for trouble being so lax?

Makes you wonder why he didn't think of it himself especially as earlier in the week one of the Doctors in attendance tested positive for the virus.

I came through Manchester Airport last Tuesday with no checks whatsoever after leaving a cruise ship which had been refused access to 2 Caribbean island ports. I was amazed that I could just walk through customs. I'm self isolating with no symptoms.

Our customs is definitely the easiest to get through in the world, it’s been like it for years, almost like they don’t give a **** what walks through and into our country.

A European clinical trial to test four experimental treatments against Covid-19 began today (Sunday March 22), it has been announced.

France’s Minister of Health Olivier Véran said this afternoon: “I have authorised several clinical trials in France, including a chloroquine trial for several hundred hospitalised patients. I will report every positive or negative result."

The full trial involves 3,200 European patients from France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain (possibly other countries).

In France the trial will include at least 800 patients suffering from a severe form of the virus.

The U.K. government stepped in to shore up the country’s rail operators after Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned Britons they face “tougher measures” to fight the coronavirus outbreak, including a potential full lockdown if they continue to ignore calls to stop social gatherings.

The Department for Transport said on Monday that it will take on the revenue and cost risk for the nation’s rail services for six months, with operators continuing to manage day-to-day services for a “a small predetermined management fee.”

Total lockdown this week seems inevitable.

Sir Richard Branson has vowed to invest £215m into his Virgin business to protect jobs following the outbreak of the coronavirus.

John Lewis have closed all their stores (I'd expect all shops, other than supermarkets/pharmacies etc, to be closed by the end of this week).

Thing is these people are told they have to come in to work. My neighbour works in London, he has to go on a train and tube, commutes every day. He’s been told he still needs to go in every day.

If I was an employer in London I’d just tell my staff to live on site.
