As you said mate, nailed on and I think that pretty much confirms Stidham as starter next year as well.

Yeah, they're not going to be after another QB and neither Hoyer nor Kessler will be lined up as starters unless something goes badly wrong.

In other news, Agholor off on a year deal to the Raiders

Making a few moves the Raiders but they seem a tad 'meh' to me tbh.

Do they have much in the way of draft capital this year?

Edit: just checked and they have two firsts, three thirds, a fourth and a fifth.

No doubt they'll be after a WR early on.

Not a bad collection there, especially the 2 firsts unless they trade back for extra picks.

Aye, they might trade one of the firsts for a second and a later round pick if anyone is desperate. And someone will be.

Watched the draft for the first time last year. Enjoyed it despite not knowing much about the draftees. Will be interesting to see how they do it this year given current circumstances.

Yeah it's a decent watch tbf. I'm sure I seen somewhere that it's not happening in Vegas now after they'd already said no public allowed.

You'd assume no OTA's or minicamp this season, going to be a steep learning curve for anyone drafted.

Gostkowski released by Patriots. I actually called that last season before his injury, seriously went off the boil, missing too many PATs etc.

Panthers cut Cam Newton. Be interesting to see where he ends up now theirs no 'price' to be paid.

I doubt that they'd have been asking for that high a pick but even then it was enough to put the Bears off who moved for Foles. Chargers reckon they are sticking with Tyrod and that being the case they must be looking to draft a QB early on. Then there's the Patriots who also don't seem to be interested given the returning Hoyer and the confidence in Stidham.

You'd expect someone to take him but there aren't any obvious ones out there at the moment. No doubt someone will get injured early on next season and that'll be when he finds a new team.

Maybe he is now finished as a top QB and the bench is sadly the best he can hope for.

I suspect you have pretty much nailed it there Sid. It's shocking how a few injuries can change an MVP calibre player to one who may be without a team going in to a season, all within a few years!

We're going to see it more and more with the new style running quarterbacks. Longevity will be a thing of the past.

@Gatesy is not going to like me for not letting this one drop but Cam to New England makes the most sense still. Hoyer is on pennies and is arguably not even a great back up. He may well be there as essentially support for Stidham. Cam could come in and challenge for the starting position. If Stidham is a bust, then Cam is there and if not, then Cam gets fit and healthy and has value to trade.

Only other potential spot I can see is the Jags to challenge/back up Minshew.

No mate, far from it tbh and I would happily have Cam go to NE. If he had the time to put himself right without the pressures then maybe, just maybe he could return to some semblance of his former self. I just really think (even more so now that the media are now tipping it) that BB is hanging his hat off Stidham and that's how Patriots will go next year, win or bust. Problem is we are nearly bottom this year with cap space, next year however sees us free up around 100m!

Ultimately, I think that's why TB12 went. He wanted something NE couldn't afford and I seen the reports that BB was in for Hopkins and Diggs just before Brady bolted, but I have serious doubts as to whether we could have afforded either of them as well. I fully expect a transitional year for BB and Pats and then full on again for 2021 season.

So true Ozzy. I look at Lamar especially and think, what kind of QB are you gonna be when you get in to your 30's and your legs start going... Mahomes, yeah he has speed but he has something else as well and I can see him going the distance but these modern QBs will be good for 5 or 6 years then they will go the way of most RB's IMO.

How unbelievable is the report and video from below? The NFL are donating $35m to COVID-19 relief and that's not taking in to account players like Drew Brees who has donated $5m himself to New Orleans community.

Meanwhile, the Premier League are more concerned about finishing the season and starting next season on time so they get their Sky TV money! ****ing shocking. Arsenal have also recently contributed 100k, which is good but in the grand scheme of things come on! That would only pay for Mesut Ozil for 2 days!

Big news for the Bucks, and Pats - Gronk and a 7th off to the Bucs in exchange for a 4th. Fair chance that the talks started as soon as Brady arrived.

Yeah you could see that coming a mile off Sid. I'll take a 4th round pick for a player who was never gonna suit up for Pats again though and I would take Thaddeus Moss with it. Not an exceptional TE but supposedly a great blocker and doesn't drop a pass often. He could do a job no bother.

Edit: I would also take Cole Kmet if possible and have 2 young, decent TE's.

I mean that team is ridiculous

    Brady

Jones (who is ****e but whatever)

    Godwin
    Evans

    Gronk
    Howard

    Pretty good O line

They only gave up 75.8yds rushing per game last season (1st) vs 270.1 passing (30th), so if they can get a pass defense together, fuuuuuck they could be good.
