There’s the second problem “ we are all equal “ I am pleased you class yourself alongside Michael Adebolajo
He is a murderer who was imprisoned for his crime. I have not murdered anybody. I pay taxes to help pay for Police, criminal justice system to lock him up away from law abiding citizens like myself so he does not pose a risk to anybody else.
He lost his liberty for the crime he committed, that is the punishment for what he did, his choice. I have my liberty as I have not committed any offences against anybody else ,my choice.
He was equal to me until it it was proven in a court of law that he was no longer equal to me in terms of his liberty. He forfeitted his equality to me as a punishment. We were both equal until he chose to kill another human being. He is no longer a member of society so it is irrelevant as socialism is about society funnily enough.
Pensions are a hand out mate, and they cost a shed load more than UC payments do. Not going to get involved in any arguments about it. Pensions are a benefit like, no different to unemployment benefit. You work, pay tax and NI and when you can't, whether that's because of sickness, or no work is available, or you have reached retirement age, you are given a benefit of some type.
Categorically, we are not all equal. Even by nature’s design. I think I get the point DH4 is trying to make mind, I just thing he’s lost the train of thought a wee bit. If there’s a positive, a massive one to come out of all of this, surely it will be the realisation that this nations real crown jewel remains, and always has been the NHS and it’s incredible workers. Ill happily pay extra NI to invest into it and give those people their richly deserved pay rise. In times like this I feel slightly ashamed that I get paid considerably more than a nurse for sales and ****ing marketing.
You know nowt I paid for my pension My mate who was a bricklayer for 50 years and earned double my wage paiid a pittance in pension payments Again you know nowt about hardship and paying pensions Get you facts right
My understanding of the NHS and its funding is that the UK per head/capita or even as a percentage of GDP is way lower that most other western countries. I doubt most folk would not be happy to hypothecation a fair chunk of the taxes to the NHS
Errr I ment most tax payers would be Happy that a specific amount or percentage of their deductions went to the NHS
Just a question Are people allowed to get double glazed windows fitted It’s happening in some areas I would of thought not essential and could wait However??????
It's still baffling to me how little attention people are paying to social distancing. I ventured out for a few essentials and the streets are absolutely heaving. There's a pathway near my estate that covers several miles and there are about 4 times as many people out there as usual, cycling, running, walking etc. I got to the shop and they had a queue outside at 2 metres apart. Then when I got in the shop, people had no problem crowding each other. On the way back I got to the steps at the back entrance to my estate and there was a couple sitting on them, so you had to squeeze past to get up. Absolutely ridiculous. If the rest of the country is like my experience, this thing is going to get a lot worse still.
