Firstly the EPL is a different competition/ownership than the EFL.

Secondly all leagues will be avoided at the same time so there will be no chance of a legal case being successful.

That said, I think they will hold out and then maybe complete the season even as late as next February! You cannot tell how long this emergency will last for, we are nowhere near the peak in this country.

The optimist in me thinks we may have a flattened curve and be only 10 days away from starting to go down the other side.

This could be true in some countries Chris - the problem is that we do not know if the increases in new cases are due to the disease spreading or to countries ramping up the numbers they test.

The prospect of legal action should the season be voided says more about lawyers and club owners than anything else. The government and the justice system needs to ensure that a line is drawn under everything that society does: that nobody loses out; that nobody gains through these circumstances. We're all in it together and cooperation is what's required not some misplaced sense of outrage and injustice at the circumstances we find ourselves in.

I agree, but if the season is voided, should all fines etc be refunded to clubs by the various FA's?
What happens about appearances and goal records?
Interested in what people's thoughts are on this....

I'm of the opinion that the records should stand alone but the line is drawn and the season finished. What about us STH's? Do I jump up and down demanding a refund or take it on the chin and move on? I have to take my own medicine here, it's for the club's to decide.

I guess that it's easy for me to say this as whatever happens doesn't affect me - but I'd accept the decision and take it on the chin, taking solace from the fact that my resultant financial loss would be a drop in the ocean compared to that of a club or, preferrably, Sky. In fact, I wouldn't even view it as a financial loss - in days of old, when I was a STH, I paid up front knowing that I'd very likely not see all of the games I had paid for, for a variety of reasons.

That is right but money seems to come before morals for clubs etc.

Already non league clubs are thinking about legal action because their leagues have been scrapped.

    Be even worse higher up.

That is if they have a case ..

After discussions the Premier League is reportedly set to restart in July with matches played behind closed doors unless the coronavirus situation in the UK worsens.

I do hope that a lot of people get onto Sky and demand their money back as they only subscribe for the football.

Sky have already arranged not to charge customers for their sports channels. They have made it extremely easy to do so.

If I had the choice between finishing the season with the risk of Watford finishing in the bottom 3 because form prior to the virus and form in a mini 9 game league cannot be quantified and the season just ending now or being void and not getting a refund I would happily take the minor financial hit
LiVARpool should get the title with a footnote about unfinished season just to stop the howling and whining from explayers on Sky and BTincluding John Barnes who doesn't seem to include Watford on his CV ( ungrateful ****)

It would not surprise me if WFC may offer refunds to STH's.

The best idea is to take the amount off next years ST.
