An interesting report on sky about how unrest might be brewing in Italy due to the lockdown there.
How long before the street rats from Streatham decide it’s time they need a new xbox or flat screen TV ?

I know we are way down the line from what’s happening over there but can’t say anything would surprise me anymore

I suspect 'they' have thought about that and are prepared to enforce the law.

    Depends what resources ‘they’ have.
Numbers are pretty thin, so I’m led to believe.

I would hope it's an attempt at humour, albeit a poor one.

    63 new cases
    514 people in total
    9 in hospital
    1 on a ventilator
    56 have recovered
We have had our first death. A 70year old with underlying health issues
When she was taken to hospital it was thought she had influenza so now 21 health workers are in self isolation.
    Flu seasons on its way

Army. MPs etc. Do hope it does not come to that but as I personally witnessed the riots in Ealing, I'd prefer the army to that again.

Following closure last week of the office in Aberdeen that I've been contracting at I drove home to Hertfordshire yesterday. The alternative was an indeterminate number of weeks on my own in my AirBnB
A pleasure of a drive - so little traffic and some great scenery particularly on the A68 (Scottish Borders / Northumberland)
Needing a piss I stopped in a small layby just over the Border and nipped behind a hedge. On emerging a police Landrover had pulled up alongside my car :emoticon-0104-surpr
However, all the officer wanted to know was whether I was OK and if my car had broken down. No interest in where I was going to / had come from
Sensible policing in my view :emoticon-0148-yes:

Sorry still can’t cross post things, but interesting article in guardian regarding Lockdown, apparently The Netherlands has extended its lockdown to June 1st and we may well follow suit, seems a sensible idea to me.

Staines I have been saying since this thing started that this lockdown won’t be over for some time. They are now reporting June from some sources.

on another note I watched Sophie Ridge today.
Gove was pretty useless and didn't answer a single important question! And he was the government spokesman. <doh>
Blair... I think it was the first time he has ever talked sense. <applause>
Labour MP doctor who just finished a shift at hospital. <applause> No political point scoring from her even when goaded by Ridge.
Then a professor who basically said we are working on a vaccine and agreed with the June date. Interesting listening. :emoticon-0148-yes:

so basically it will all come down to testing and at the moment the government are saying 10k a day which I can’t see TBH. see you in 12.5 years when I get mine.

Ze Germans are managing a cheeky 500k a week. The other day we were told extensive testing was only appropriate for poorer countries. Without testing, the number of frontline staff able to work goes down. Something doesn’t add up.

Ze Germans have massive pharmaceutical manufacturing plants that can produce these kits and managed to sort this very quickly. We were either slow off the mark or are waiting like most to get these kits. It would be ill advised to compare with other countries.
Agree we need these tests to clear people and eventually start getting the immune back to work.

Some good examples of customer service:

    - AirBnB refunded my payments for the next two weeks when I cancelled within 24 hours
    - LNER have refunded my Advance tickets in full (Boro match and partners journey to Aberdeen)

    Certainly helps my cash flow!
