I got up early to watch a Chris Packham live feed but with the clock change i mixed up my GMT with My BST.. And was waiting for the nine am feed to come on at Eight am BST.. Weird what all this difference is doing to my brain!
Morning all. Quite a change in the weather since yesterday when it was warm and sunny. Today it is overcast, and quite breezy so doesn't feel nearly so warm. I do prefer the summer time hours on the clocks even if it means changing them. Longer evenings would suit me the whole year, but I am aware that BB for example might not find it so useful seeing as he is almost living in the Arctic circle. Pleased to have had a really productive gardening day yesterday, so I will take it easy today and wait for the sun to get its act together again. Have an enjoyable day whatever you are doing.
- you're right, we don't really need it up here - winter or summer. The idea that someone thinks they are 'saving daylight' by taking it off one end and tacking it on to the other has always amused me. Having spent a large part of my life living in the tropics, I know why by far the majority are against it there - nightfall brings relief. No-one in their right mind wants the heat of the day to be extended by an hour.
We are in a group of 3 houses and with the telly on we don't hear a thing, even if the neighbours did venture out and clap. Will check it out next week.
I quite agree BB, leave the fecking clocks alone, mid day is when the sun is overhead end of. Daylight saving - where do they put it? In a box under the bed? Why? There might have been a historical reason for it (escapes me though, why do some have to get up so early for work) but these days the floodlighting is better than the daylight at times.
You will be fine Scully when you get free of those pesky southerners and adopt Scottish Mean Time to suit yourselves up there.
We will be taking some additional noise makers out with us next Thursday.. Health and social care workers are so boosted by the support...
Morning, Dave; morning, all. Back to the grindstone. I’m teaching Matej today; triple Physics, Computing, then Maths.
Morning all. Overcast, breezy and cold. Last night the Meteo suggested that we might see a few snow flurries this morning, and as I headed towards the teapot sure enough a few flakes were going past the window. The forecasters are now telling me that there might be rather more heading my way, in fact it might be more than just a few flakes. Better fill out another form and head to the bakers over the border as our dispenser doesn't get stocked on a Monday. I think that gardening will be on hold again today. I might eventually catch up, and with temperatures of 20°C expected later in the week I will be happy to stay in the warm for now. Enjoy your day whatever the weather.
