I never knew Seb, and only ever said hello to him once. That was at a Roland Out protest when a score or so of us picketed a sponsors' meeting at the Valley. Seb came and joined us for 20 minutes or so, and although he didn't stay as long as the rest, we certainly felt it was a feather in our cap to have him there at all.
Nice piece by Dr Kish http://www.cafcpicks.com/cgi-bin/drkish/display.pl?month=202003&date=20200329&time=0733
We are now up to £9,434 for Seb's memorial, in the current economic climate that's remarkable. Shows how much he was loved.
One idea might be to retire Seb’s ST seat ...in the same way the club did with Keith Palmer. Although I know from sitting near to Seb in the NWQ that he moved about a lot during the game.
I didn't know Seb, but I think he might have liked his seat to be used by another Charlton fan. He wouldn't want to reduce the capacity at the Valley. And having another person cheering the team on from his seat would be a fitting tribute. Perhaps his seat should be marked with a plaque, but I'm not sure it should be retired.
Appeal to @Sat In Greenwich and @The mighty Elfsborg and everyone (you two I recall had an interest in replica shirts) The fan who organised the fund raiser for Seb’s statue has messaged me - asking if anyone on here has replica Charlton shirts that he could auction to raise further funds for Seb. He’s 100% genuine.
Ffs, you answer a favour and this is what happens. Anyway, pm with the meet. I have time on my hands...........................................
