The burden of paying millions a week to people who kick a ball around? The house of cards has taken a mighty gust.
Does anyone really care if the season is reset and we go back to the start? I mean setting aside the financial issues that will plague (poor phrasing) every club regardless of decision, resetting to the start of the year means nothing to me. Fairer in many ways than forcing the clubs and teams to compete in exceptional strained circumstances.
I feel to continue the 2019,-20 season would surreal. Playing in June to conclude a season? Better to let everyone recover and start afresh at a suitable time. I would even venture to suggest that internacional club competitions are cancelled for next season ,likewise with internationals until the summer of 2021.
I don`t see any way this season can continue, and should be voided sooner rather than later. If it did restart in the summer, then it`ll just screw up next season. Shame for the clubs who would have been promoted, or qualified for Europe. This situation was unavoidable (unlike when Saints couldn`t play in Europe due to the behaviour of a certain club`s fans). A bit of Karma for me if Liverpool don`t lift the title. I realise that sounds a bit petty.
We are in the midst of a worldwide pandemic and right now sport is really not that important. When this is all over there needs to be a re-evaluation of our priorities. If we just pick up where we left off then nothing will have been learned from this disaster, and that will be a huge wasted opportunity. It can’t be right that so many essential workers are so poorly paid and have to work ridiculously long hours just to make ends meet. We all love football but this virus has made me consider whether all the hype and obscene amounts of money involved is worth it. People are dying every hour and doctors and nurses are battling against a terrible virus without even the protection they should have. Maybe we have all lost some perspective about what life is really all about. I really don’t care if the football season is binned this year, or whether the Olympics is cancelled altogether. There are far more important things we need to sort out, like making sure we have an NHS which is properly funded, fully staffed and equipped and we invest properly in local communities and local food production. Football just doesn’t seem to be a priority for me these days.
If we lose the Rochdale's and Exeter's, I don't want the ManU's and Chelsea's. Its a package deal. Football now needs to change.
Well an English would not have won the CL in any case this season, so no loss there. And there are/we're teams in the EL as good as Manchester United still left in the competition. Time to suspend all internacional games at both club and country until at least the summer of 2021. (I feel all internacional matches should be cancelled until the autumn of next year thus allowing clubs and their staff time to recover by playing domestic leagues only until then.)
I expect Liverpool will be leading the fight to ensure that the CL reaches a satisfactory conclusion, with the same level of energy that Man Utd will be pushing to complete the premier league season.
I read this morning that the Pompey squad are being furloughed, with other lower league teams likely to do the same.
So as many of you have already heard, Club Brugge have been declared Champions with the Belgian league cancelled with immediate effect. Great, a bit of clarity from the governing body. But, what is going to happen to the clubs fighting relegation? The bottom three are cut adrift, but only two get relegated in that league. And guess what, its not simple, Cercle Brugge & Oostende are seperated by one point with one game to play. No new information seems to be coming to light about this. For me, this issue is more important than the title, so I find it a little frustrating that they have declared, without resolution. If anyone wants to do some digging, I'd love to know what they plan to do about it.
Pretty good re-creation of the actual goals, looks like a decent young player there. Hopefully one day he'll have the skills to include a MLT goal .
