It's worth mentioning that Teemu Tainio manages FC Haka, so it's likely the club gave him a heads up that his son would be available soon

Loved Teemu, although nowhere near the quality, he was someone like van der Vaart who just “got it” to play for Spurs. Helped he was a Spurs fan anyway but he really did give his all, all the time.

And I’ll never forget him mocking Drogba near the end of the match in the cup final reminding him what the score was.

So the source that HBIC quoted with regards to Fraser agreeing a pre-contract with us is now saying we're in talks with Stefan Savic's agent (and yes, for those that remember, he had a season at City a good few years back).

Either Todo Fichajes are set to become the best new foreign media source/ ITK or they're succeeding in making up absolute bollocks with a small following yet getting Spurs fans excited with talk of potential signings.

29 and has had a good 5 years under Simeone whilst working alongside defenders such as Godin and Jimenez. He won the Prem with City in his only season in England but played just a handful of games, may fancy a second crack at establishing himself over here and transitioning from a Simeone defence to a Jose one could be fairly easy for him seeing as both managers enjoy a solid defensive outlook.

Another thing to mention is that Tainio was our Scandinavian scout a couple of years ago, roughly at the same time his son joined our U18s

On the one hand he's been at Haka since late 2018, so you'd think he's left his role at the club - but on the other hand we did bring in Isak Solberg from Bryne last summer...

Yeah up until the Maxi departure I hadn't even realised Teemu left us to take up the manager's position, never saw any form of announcement. Can't say I know much about the club either but looks like he won the league last season with them, although a brief reading suggests they're one of the best/ biggest clubs in Finland but it's probably a good job to get when starting his managerial career.

They finished top of the second tier last season

They're reasonably successful, with nine league titles since 1960...but that pales compared to the twenty HJK Helsinki have won in that same time period

    Osimhen Watch
Victor Osimhen's agent says that he will leave Lille to join Spurs...provided we sell Harry Kane first

You know, sort of like how Man Utd would loan us Frazer Campbell provided we sold them Dimitar Berbatov first, and by the way he's at our training ground so you;d better do as we say...

    Striker B Watch
Sky Sports report that we are one of a list of clubs interested in signing Josh King from Bournemouth, with a fee of £20m being bandied about as he's out of contract in June next year (in other words, about the time thee Premier League realises that it's utterly futile to try and complete the 2019-20 season)

His agent's comments basically boiled down to him wanting to play regularly at any club that he joins, which is reasonable.
He pointed out that it would be unlikely that he'd do so at Spurs, due to Kane's presence. Can't argue with that, really.
King's an experienced Premier League player and a seasoned international, who also counts as homegrown, despite being Norwegian.
He'll be 29 in January, so I expect he's looking for a step up and a decent payout, as it's probably his last big contract.

Problem is we can all guess how that one will get twisted by certain Baddiel-faced vomiters or lies and far-right propaganda

In terms of King, it's a tough one: he does tick a few boxes (proven at PL level, HG, can play in a variety of positions) which certainly puts him ahead of someone like Vedat Muriqi as an option off the bench, but on the other hand he isn't that reliable a goalscorer if you look at his stats
    2015-16: 6 in 31
    2016-17: 16 in 36
    2017-18: 8 in 33
    2018-19: 12 in 35
    2019-20: 4 in 19

If he was averaging 10-12 goals a season he'd certainly seem a better option to have in reserve, because we've got a bit too much experience of backup strikers who can't score lately...

Wouldn't say no to King but £20m for someone with just a year left on their deal seems steep, especially in the current circumstances.

Can understand Osimhen's/ his agent's stance, we all know it's tough finding a backup striker when you have someone like Kane. Nevertheless we need to sort it, going into this season with no backup was asking for trouble.

Best bet is probably finding another Llorente. Failing that then someone like King whose contract is running down at a lesser club or we can look at the Championship *cough* Ollie Watkins *cough*/ leagues outside of Europe's top five which is where someone like Muriqi comes into play, countries like Belgium, Portugal and Croatia are generally hotspots for decent talent which should always be monitored.

Don't you think it would be wiser to sign a different type of striker instead of a direct replacement/stand in, that way if things aren't working in a game the manager has the option of changing shape/tactics and thus changing the game.

Yeah it’d be ideal for sure but just having another option even if in a similar mould to Kane is better than no backup at all, it was practically suicide of us going into the season with just Kane as the only central forward and we felt the effects of him being out, more so when Son joined him in the treatment room.

Except Kane seems to have a spell out every season now. Someone to slot in to the regular shape would be a big step up. We have the other options in Moura, Son, Bergwijn to change the shape. What we lack is someone to play the way Kane does. Also Kane is good in a no 10 role as well - so he could change it up for a different shape and play with the new No9.

What both Poch and Steptonho seem to believe is we need a target man off the bench, as both Janssen and Llorente fit this mold and it has to be said that Osimhen, Milik and Muriqi do as well - yet I've long said what we need off the bench of a Jermain Defoe-type striker who'll be a nuisance for tiring defenders

I think that we should go for two strikers, ideally.
Someone like DH's suggestion of Ollie Watkins and someone like Mitrovic from Fulham.
Watkins is homegrown and versatile, while Mitrovic is more of a target man and is already settled in London.
Both are a decent age, too.

A report in France claiming that Morgan Sanson’s agent is saying his client is close to joining us.

A rumour similar to this popped up during the 18/19 summer window IIRC so on one hand it could be regurgitating bollocks or could mean he’s been on our radar for a while and now finally set to join.

In other news - and quite reliable at that seeing as it’s come from Romano - sounds like Dier is in contract negotiations.
