Or do the Swans have an edge as he played for Cooper in the England Under 17's?

    Who knows?

All moot until we know what happens this season. As much from a financial position as anything.
With the potential for TV refunds, reduced sponsorship, no money through the doors for a couple months, there could be a few bargains around come summer. Fees and salaries.

You're quite right Remote but at least we're having a bit of football chat.

Don't even know how good this youngster is. Not every Manc or even Prem club loaner turns out to be a star. Mind you if he were to shape up like Sanderson he wouldn't be bad.

Yep, good to have some footy chat.

We've not really done much with young loanees of late.
Would rather a more experienced loanee or sign a youngster permenantly.
Can imagine quite a lot of decent players being available in the summer as squad sizes are reduced to save cash.

There’s always good to come from troubled times pals. For instance with the lack of football conversation, Masky’s fan base has risen exponentially! Just putting it out there! :emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool:

    Sadly, I agree.
The question is, will teams flatten their pay structure to maintain a squad, or will some rediculous salaries remain.

Football has been a house of cards for a while, and coronovirus is blowing a gale.

There will be a lot of short term pain for many, though it may be what is needed for the long term.

Not sure how some clubs will manage to pay the huge salaries some are on for the next 2, 3, 4 years. Cant see any players renegotiating contracts with a salary reduction. Nor should they, unless it drives a club to administration.

I dont believe there will be any golden eggs laid for a while, and maybe the goose that laid them is dead.

The potential EFL announcement (see OS’ Question thread) is intent on concluding season before a lot of players contracts end so there is likely to be thereafter a lot of players livelihoods in doubt.

It should be said though that is not unlike huge numbers of non footballers employed and currently on furlough.

And when the government pulls its support for furlough, a great number of people will be heading for the job centre

I think that's the point though......better 50% of something than 100% of bugger all. While these players can see their contract out and play hard ball, their options when they are free will be much much lower since no-one will be able to put out the big salaries…..without breaking FFP. And FFP will have to be adjusted somehow too.....otherwise all clubs will break the limits....virtually no income and big outgoings equals losses all round and that for some time too.

Hardly one for the future especially if we also sign Uncle Albert. OAP's are us.

Not one to inspire. Hardly set the world on fire. Might be okay in the Championship but at 6ft 4 ins it gives an indication of the likely style of football.

He is not much of an ambition statement but I suppose any signings are governed by financial ability. Ward likely to go so a new striker needed although the under 23 player, James Waite, looks promising and a totally different playing style - some comparisons made to Bellers.
