Sixteen years of hurt are about to come to an end hopefully!!!! During this time, Leeds have been further relegated twice, put in administration, docked a further 15 points for acting improperly whilst in administration and had our best players pillaged. 18 Managers have come and gone as well as 5 owners including the only Kuwait Investment Company with no money and a mad Italian who transferred 51% ownership from Leeds Utd to his dog Scrappy! (Honestly) Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel, but do football supporters want to see Leeds Utd back in the Premiership?
I think a lot do. Fans everywhere talk now of Bielsa and his footballing philosophy and grudgingly respect our support. We’ll certainly add an extra ingredient to the pl that’s been missing
To leeds fans from Leeds I say . The Leeds fans from Hull who openly mock and get joy out of seeing THEIR OWN City about to get relegated I say they are C U.N.T.S!
I don't think Leeds have an automatic right to be in the Prem but they have certainly earned the right to go up this year with some great football and an un-Leeds- like resilience (apart from your visit to Loftus Road ) Good luck with next season - the Prem is a very different place from when you were there last!
Fair enough pal. I'm not on the wind up. All active clubs in the top 2 divisions have received the same mail.
I honestly am not bothered whether they are in the Prem or not. If you're good enough to be promoted, you deserve to be there, regardless of club. For me at least, unless you're going to be challenging near the top half of the table, the Prem feels a bit ****. It was awesome in 2008/09, because we'd never been there, it was something completely alien, and I didn't really care how we finished. However, each season since has for me offered diminishing returns, to the point where I wasn't bothered at all in 2016/17 to even watch them on tv most of the time. The Championship just feels a lot more fun and down-to-earth than the cold and clinical 'money-or-nothing' PL. Obviously, if you do a Wolves or Sheff Utd, it'll be great. But if you do a Norwich or Villa... I'd rather just stay down, to be honest.
I don't mind Leeds being back in the top flight, you guys have certainly been less insufferable than several other fanbases of "big" clubs in this division. If we can trade Leeds for Villa, I would take that. I will say that it is going to be very hard for you next season though; the gulf between divisions is huge and it's very easy to spend a lot of money for no return (see Fulham and Villa).
Sometimes you see teams in the Championship playing great football and think they will do ok in PL like Fulham .then They really struggle . Then you See Sheff U and think they will struggle but do great ( I think this is their high point and could really struggle next year ). It's quite strange
I have no problem at all with Leeds being back in the Premier League. You've earned it fair and square. I'm a bit more bothered that we may be dropping back to League One for the 3rd time in just over a decade. But the league table doesn't lie - top or bottom. Wish we had some clarity about possible points deductions for a couple of teams though...
