Would be fantastic in many ways but the rebranding would not be accepted anywhere in England. Certainly not amongst the big and medium sized clubs.

    A bit of an incident?
Not that it would happen but if a member of your family was run over and killed by a drunk driver would you be happy to have it written off as ‘ a bit of an incident’?

The family in this bit of an incident would have been complicit in making sure he didn’t face justice.
And whilst it’s not at the standard of human rights abuses meted out by Saudi Arabia or China, its still a pretty **** way of dealing with something. Unless of course you think that the life of a police officer, a person to whom the state entrusts to maintain law and order is less important to the running of a multinational business operation?
Go and speak to the family of the police officer in Reading who was dragged under a car and died in what was clearly horrific circumstances by them traveller lads. See if they think if it was just ‘a bit of an incident’.

Sadly in a lot of countries cash is king and the rich and powerful will know which palms to grease.

That’s barely the point I was making. The point I was making was how on earth does that reflect on Red Bull?

If you can find a major corporation on earth that hasn’t benefited from someone’s status I’ll give you my car.

We best tell Nike to stop making our kits, we best return all the sponsorship and ad money, and I hope to god you knit all your own clothes.

Red Bull is a very respected brand (I don’t touch energy drinks, but they’ve done wonderful things in sport and in the communities around their sporting holdings).

There’s no suggestion I don’t value the life of a police officer, you have no ****ing clue who you are talking to so I’ll enlighten you that my other half is indeed one of Northumbria’s finest, so if you wanna go and pull someone up for their phrase, which was throwaway, why not use the intelligence level I’d expect someone in that role to have and think ‘am I twisting this’.

In this scenario, as anyone can see, I was making little reference to ‘the incident’ (I believe, in fact I know a commonly used police term, even when people have died), and more to how it reflects on Red Bull and my opinions on their ownership, which would be clear by the post.

Did you even read the last line of the post which couldn’t have been clearer?

I assume, also, as a man of such honour that someone can be griefed for their choice of words that you’ve seen some kind of clear evidence that his family was involved and it’s not just a broken system in that part of the world.

And weirdly, if you had read any other posts I put in then you’d realise that I used to be one of Northamptonshire’s finest from 1995 until 2007 when I emigrated to Western Australia as part of their international recruiting campaign where they wanted British police officers. I’ve been a cop for the best part of 25 years.
And if you really can’t see that the heir to the organisation that you think would be good for Sunderland AFC is someone who will try and confound the police in order to save his own skin and prevent a rather lengthy prison term is not the sort of person we would want at our club then you might want to adjust your moral compass.
And by referring to the death of a cop as a little incident rather than what it actually is then you’re belittling your own partners contributions to keeping society safe. The death/possible murder of a cop is not a little incident and it should never be used as a throwaway comment in that instance.

Not remotely. I am aware of your background as a long time poster, nothing I said in any way cheapens they life of the police officer.

My comment was in relation to the ownership of a multi national corporation, there will have been far worse and far less done by heads of companies, again, I ask, is this not more a systematic failing of the system? Does it fully reflect the public standing of a company like Red Bull? Do the followers of Leipzig, Salzburg etc feel that their supremely successful clubs with wonderful community links and sustainably tan football clubs are being ran by a tyrant?

An incident like that will always be a shambles, a disgrace, but you go and find me a squeaky clean corporation, I tell you now they do not exist.

Not getting into the Police Officer stuff, obviously the little **** deserves locking up for that for a long time. But, apart from benefitting financially from his family's stake in the company, I don't think he is directly involved in it. Everything they touch is so well run that I'd he happy for them to be in charge.

Which is the part I commented on, and answered ‘yes, I would love them to run our club’.

Well we could turn this right on it’s head and say how many innocent people have been killed by Policemen, but it doesn’t make the whole Force murderers. An Inspector at Essex charged with sexual offences, but I would still highly respect Essex Police ( the Interceptors with their Subaru’s were great) and any other Force as you can’t be responsible for individuals.
Look it’s obvious this is a highly emotive subject, and a complete change in direction of the thread . We are fighting over something that is unlikely to happen. Respect to all, kiss, make up and move on.

Getting back to the subject this man is an absolute maniac. F1 team Haas ended their sponsorship with his company after 6 months saying they would be more careful the next time when choosing a sponsor. He believes Covid19 to be no worse than flu and is man made for the ulterior motive that the elite can have a "global reset". Campbell would have us bust in a year. Storey wouldn't even take that long to do it. Very very worrying if it is true.

I for one welcome our new ZZ Top fantasist overlord. Be like having a combination of every crazy Italian owner on a mix of crystal meth and crack running the show.
