On today’s showing, Hojbjerg has shown exactly what we need from the other midfielder in that trio. He can actually tackle as well as get the ball forward. We need to rid ourselves of Winks and Sissoko who offer us next to nothing and have someone who can compete with Hojbjerg, and someone who can compete with Ndombele and Lo Celso. Skipp will hopefully return next season as a Hojbjerg challenger but we have no one who can compete with the two creative players.
Rose is as good as gone tbh so doesn’t really need to be listed. No squad number and probably about fifth choice LB. Even if not sold we can rest easy knowing he won’t play barring a ridiculous injury crisis. Forgot about Dele though. The others however still somehow manage to make our squad/ XI far too often and it frustrates the life out of me.
I think we will struggle to get better subs than people like Lamela - he is not a starter but he always tries to influence the match when he comes on, and I don't think we would get enough for him to make it worthwhile selling him.
A year or two ago I’d have agreed with that but nowadays not so much. I don’t think he helps change games anywhere near enough to what we’d need him too and the injury problems he’s had always leaves me wondering if he’s a reliable enough option. He’s probably the last one I’d sell on that list but nonetheless I do think he needs to go.
Yep, the all time penalty statistics for the Premier League`s 6 ever present clubs back this up, we comfortably have the worst for and against stat, we have had more given against us than for, and even have an overall worse penalty for and against record than Everton.
Maybe I’m reading too much into it but I feel like he’s having a dig at Spurs history as well as the current fixture list.
Him and Solskjaer have been having a back and forth in the press over the last couple of days. I think this is his way of saying that Man Utd would not have had these problems.
It doesn't though does it. We had 2 points taken from us today. If we get 2 extra points against you from a bad handball decision next week you lose out...not Newcastle. So nothing has been evened out.
Hot in terms of officials increasing blood pressure, cold in terms of chances of referees having a clue
Yeh but then we get an extra 2 points off a bad handball decision against Newcastle and it does. Anyway rcl don't shoot the messenger mate, I was just summarising what Brunel was saying.
Aww, did I hurt your fee-fees by bitching you out in front of your mates on the Prem board? Go cry somewhere quiet, like your team's board
I like the positive spirit. But the whole thing is laughably inept. The foul for the free kick should have gone the other way, or at worst been a no call. The rule was poorly designed and terribly written. I’d say it was also misinterpreted, but it’s such a collection of vaguely worded mush I’m not sure it can be interpreted. It certainly isn’t applied consistently, since there seems to be no rhyme or reason to determine when there are VAR reviews. (Just for a start, the system badly needs those reviews to be the result of challenges, which both teams have a certain number of, and which they lose if the challenge is unsuccessful.) Finally, this is the second time on the "Hey, let’s make a really strict handball rule!" merry go round. The first was such a disaster it was changed quickly. And now we’re back, with an even stricter version? Can’t anybody here officiate this game? Compared to other sports I follow, football is by far the biggest s***show. And this was the first match I really enjoyed watching Spurs play football since Mourinho took over.
