I wrote this before the match and didn't send it. The crystal ball seems to have been cloudy in some spots and clear in others.

"The small signs of improvement I've seen from Spurs this year have stepped up a bit with the performances against Chelsea and Maccabi. The quality of the squad and a certain amount of resilience enabled a win by a mostly reserve side in the former. While Spurs ought to beat a club the size of the latter by a few, they rarely have in the time I've been a Spurs fan.

Despite signs of progress which have picked up this week, I'm expecting Mourinho to set up Spurs not to lose against Man U, which means the chances of giving up the first goal are extremely good. A similar approach versus Chelsea led to that result. I wish he'd play more to the squad's strengths. Spurs are a dangerous attacking team. While the players have to be tired at this point, I think Man U are there for the taking, and Mourinho won't take them.:"

I missed most of the game but got back just before our penalty. Obviously a brilliant scoreline and I assume a performance to match. Not much else to say on the game but I was intrigued to find out more so watched the Sky punditry for the first time in ages...

God they are ****. They were supposed to start talking about Spurs and Souness didn't even finish his first sentence before he focused on United. Evra was completely baffling but seemed to be talking about United and then Neville's invited in to talk about United. I mean ****ing hell, at least pretend to care about other teams. It was nice to see some of the goals I missed but it wasn't worth the 15 minutes of ads and 15 minutes of United talk. They spent more time analysing the penalty for the 6th goal, as if that was important, than anything Spurs did.

The red was a joke though, haha. Well done Lamela :D

Gollum needs to shut it and do his job. Their squad is not too dissimilar to ours - talented if a little unbalanced and light in quality at the back. But he can’t seem to coach a defence and their only shot on target before today in this league campaign I think was Rashford’s goal against Brighton, or some lunacy like that. I have some sympathy for him as things seem rotten behind the scenes and they’ve still got Pogba strolling around like he owns the place for the bantz but the sanctimonious, holier than thou attitude from him and the United set in the media is poison.

Remember how, on Tuesday evening, all the toxic little toerags were saying how Reggie wasn't to lace Luke Shaw's boots?

    Harry Kane stays this season:

    played 4: 6 assists and 3 goals

Incredible. What a player and I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves

So did Reguillon play the Davies role, or was he more advanced? He was playing as a number 10 at one point towards the end but I mean back when the game was a contest.

Hojbjerg did enough to allow both of our fullbacks to get forward.
It's a shame that we don't have any like-for-like backup for him.

I think he a done a few lines of Charlie and a couple red bulls before the match. Bombed it back and forth all game and never seemed to get tired (though same for Aurier!). Davies came on for Son and went LB so for the last 15-20 Reguilon played LW. Very impressive performance again though, he’s gonna become a crowd favourite in no time.

He is going to be a player that will make the odd mistake and I really hope when the crowds do come back he doesn’t get stick for it. I would much rather a player like that than one who always just plays it safe. He is like Benny on speed! <laugh>

Regulion is ****ing RAPID. A couple more recoveries today where he just seemed to teleport to Fernandes's position. He's still getting on the same wavelength as the rest of the team I think as one or two passes in the final third showed but I don't want to be critical - he's going to be a special player.
