Apparently common sense has been removed by the government of the day. So you can’t blame the people for not following any guidance or recommendations to protect themselves, their families, their friends or co-workers as best as possible.
Second wave? It’s Butt Huber that’s driving it and mind bending the populations of the nations!

Maybe slightly concerned Woody. The only real parallel to what is happening is special emergency conditions during wartime - will they all be relaxed after this is over ? Who will get to actually decide when this is over ? It's not like with a war where you have an offical surrender and an peace treaty - so governments have to decide on a point where a) there are so few new infections that it's 'safe' or b) those new infections are not translating into deaths or serious/critical cases. Some governments may see the advantages of holding onto so called 'emergency conditions' such as the lack of real debate, or banning of protests for longer than is absolutely necessary.

We could have, but I don’t want to submit to arbitrary, pointless and moreover damaging governmental interference. If there was any logic behind the 10pm bullshit, it would be different, but there is no science or even logic behind it.

I hope you’re right, although I reckon they’ll find new reasons to maintain the new normal.

To a certain extent you're right on the last bit SW - conspiracy theorists do not want this crisis to end because that would destroy their theories.

You might not be bothered about your rights, I am. So what do you understand to be the logic behind the 10pm rule?

I agree, but loads of countries all seem to have opted for exactly 10pm.

Now to me this really is a serious cock-up. Missing 16,000 cases over a week, translating to no use of the track and trace system is not going to reduce this second wave. To me that really is incompetence and requires someone to take ownership and possibly resign, because they clearly aren’t in control of their ‘generals’ and ‘captains’.

I’ve given more than fair weight to the ‘unprecedented challenge’ but this is unbelievable and incredulous to me. Surely their are more immediate checks and balances than this!

I think you’re right, but this is nothing like war time. The maintaining of high levels of fear is, in my opinion scandalous and is based on flaky, at best, evidence. This PCR test continues to be scrutinised as to it’s accuracy and it’s relevance and ultimately is the basis for this continuing invasion on our personal liberties and ability to go about our normal lives.

Unfortunately they were too busy congratulating themselves for certain nearby countries reporting worse figures to check on thousands of errors every day and the resulting multiples of thousands of people who will have been in contact with those people unknowingly.

As you know, nobody resigns any more. Anyway look over there at that dinghy.

Hancock has gone from someone i initially had a lot of sympathy for to now arguably being the worst of the bunch. Seriously who the **** does this **** think he is? The arrogance is off the ****ing charts. I'm not sure they even care about sorting this **** out now, the lies and incompetence run far too deep.

I did the test myself in the end, mate. As someone who can't brush his teeth in the morning without gagging, this was quite difficult, but it's done now and in the hands of Royal Mail. I've also spoken to my GP and he's prescribed some antibiotics, which I'm fairly confident is all that's needed.

I am so stunned by this I barely know what to think.

Testing, tracking and communicating have been repeatedly stressed as the key to keeping this thing under control, we’ve been told about the billions being spent on it, the fantastic talent of the people leading it up, the staggering ‘world beating’ targets that we will achieve.

And at every ****ing step it’s a **** up.

If you’re caught with your pants around your ankles you might want to pull them up sharpish and make your apologies, not stand indignant with a look of astonishment on your face and with your hands in the air as if anyone stupidly sees your modesty flapping in the storm.

Not worried per se, but then again I think parliamentary democracy is not all it’s made out to be anyway, it’s just the beautifully painted modesty screen of capitalism, so I’m not expecting much in the first place. Even if Parliament has a say in policy, it doesn’t mean you do. In current circumstances I see a bunch of ****wits panicking and clutching at straws to try and save their reputations which will be even further ruined if hospitals get flooded with ill people. No sinister attack on our ‘rights’. You were still able to stand up in a restaurant and address a bunch of people quietly trying to enjoy their evenings without the secret police whisking you away, weren’t you?

There is certainly no science behind the 10 pm closing time, and precious little logic, but I can see the PR attractions of it -‘let’s get those super spreading kids off the streets early’. Daft of course.
