I agree. I’ll reopen if and when there’s a resurrection of the deal or a juicy court case. In the interim, I’m not sure we need analysis of pictures of bread on Twitter, Captain can analyse that kind of stuff on the toon thread.
For an update on the situ: Pictures of bread have been forwarded to us, they're being analysed as we speak for hidden messages. I cannot say much more, as I'm sure you can understand. Sir Michael has began proceedings to sue the Premier League, for what end we do not know, some claim it is to complete the Saudi bid evidence for such being one of Sir Michael's legal reps is some Saudi prop. Or something. Others believe he wants some form of compensation, but I have been informed that's not possible for some legal reason. Some say it's deffo on, some say it's deffo off. I say I deffo dunno.
He’s not actually suing the PL yet mate. It’s gone to arbitration, which is prudent given that the PL is merely the sum total of its members, of which Newcastle is currently one & he’d effectively be suing 19 PL clubs.... What the arbitration is to try and settle is anyone’s guess. Could be about the argued point about whether PIF was essentially the Nation state or not, but that would be odd, given it’s not them bringing the case. More likely imo, that he’s asking for damages due to the length of the decision process. We’ll see.
The damages is what I suggested and was shot down, he might be trying to claw back any cash that he can. Logically now, the only way that Ashley can sell Newcastle as quickly as possible is through us being relegated and it going through the rather shoddy EFL checks. They can be done in a matter of weeks, he'd lose money of course so it's a no go.
