The Telegraph have jumped first: Knowing Spurs it won't be announced officially until three days after his first match.
Jose’s massively praised Levy (and Hitchen) in the presser, calling Levy a genius. Said he got almost everyone he wanted (but was also more than he expected) but that manager’s are always in that situation of almost getting everyone - apart from those who break FFP and therefore get everyone they want . I presume the almost bit applies to Skriniar and that Rodon (if completed) is the backup/ contingency. In my opinion Skriniar won’t happen in January, price will be sky high and Inter won’t want to sell halfway into a season without a replacement. The summer is where I think we’ll focus big money on a CB now with the aim of (hopefully) shipping out two of Toby, Dier and Sanchez to then go into the 2021/22 season with Tanganga, Rodon*, the one remaining from the other three and then Skriniar/ big money CB.
There's been suggestions (albeit in the Korean press) that we'll go back for Kim Min-jae once the Chinese season wraps up in November Of our current first-choice CBs I get the feeling Sanchez is most likely to be in the long-term plans, especially considering how Ledders has been talking up him and Tanganga since starting in his current role, so going into next season the options would be Sanchez & NEW CB to start with Tanganga and Rodon backing them up, at which point we speculate where Fagan-Walcott or Eyoma fit in
Yeah Sanchez is definitely the most logical, even if he hasn’t fully kicked on as I’d hoped. Though Jose does seem to have a thing for Dier. Fagan-Walcott’s development has taken a battering as he’s out for a while with the meniscus tear. I think we’ll look to loan him out next season if he makes a good enough recovery. Eyoma’s a tough one, may be a case of bad timing for him unless a spot at RB opens up if Aurier were to leave before the start of next season, though I personally like having a battle for that RB spot with him and Doherty.
BBC bloke seems to think that Carter-Vickers is joining Bournemouth on loan. His contract expires at the end of the season, IIRC. Might be an extension before the loan?
Our social media team deserve a raise, they’ve nailed the announcement videos this summer Welcome, Joe!
Looks like the deal was done before today and not announced, so that Swansea could spend the money on signings. May explain why the terms seem to have been so favourable for us and why Carter-Vickers was sorted despite this supposedly being so late.
£11m is disgraceful, worth double, possibly triple that. **** the owners, **** Winter, **** Daniel Levy and **** anyone who played any part in this awful deal. However… Want to wish Rodon a massive goodluck, deserves to play at the top level and now has the chance to show it! — Jack (@JackDaviesSCFC) October 16, 2020 Gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling inside, doesn't it? Cursing Levy, I mean, not the good wishes.
Obviously all "agreements in principle" and "subject to" (none of the pending deals in the chain collapsing) . And no doubt a bit of hamming up just to give the hacks something to hype.
