    Similar to what happened with Van Dyke, the media will be reminding everybody for the next couple of weeks about Gomez`s injury, along with how unlucky Saltypool are. They will try their best to paint the Mousers as hard done by and as the victims, don`t be surprised if we see some `sympathetic officiating` going Pool`s way (again) in their next few games. Similarly, when every year some Pool loving journo coughs up one of those nonsense VAR / refereeing decision tables that always has the Dippers as the worst treated club on the list, when in fact it is quite the opposite.

    And why shouldn't he? Better to do what he has done rather than invest in wine, women etc.

    He is protecting his future. Football can be a fickle career. One bad injury and you're finished.

    On any event £2m is hardly a huge amount taking into account the amount top players earn. So that buys him 5 properties up't north. Would hardly get him 1 in London.
