Big corporations are the manipulators, hiding in plain sight. There’s no shadow Govt, only rich lobbyists and bent attorney generals like Bill Barr. People who are supposed to be impartial and apply the law. But they instead take a stance that supports their rich chums in their plunder. Our Govt are no better, look at the way they’ve shelled out £bns to their rich mates in private contacts during this pandemic.

Imo, the left and the right are not the ‘opposite wings of the same bird’ in that bastardised trope, they are very different entities fighting for completely different agendas. The right want deregulation, less interference from Govt, so that they can be free to rape the planet, make a profit and screw anybody who suffers as a result. The left are broadly fighting for social justice, equality and accountability for these leeches who take more than their fair share.

If he can grift enough money to cover his debts, then I don’t think he will.
IMO all the nonsense around conceding the election is designed to whip his base up into a frenzy and keep the dollars rolling in. The threat of running again in 2024 is all part of the same grift, only hoping big donors will keep bankrolling him. Any money raised by this nonsense will be spirited away into personal accounts to cover his debts.

That is because he lacks critical intelligence and just parrots whatever he reads in the media

Ive seen this happen with a mate of mine too. 12 months ago he was a hippie, ex traveller, broadly left leaning, very critical of the Tory party but always prone to believing a conspiracy theory.

Fast forward a year of having his head buried in right wing internet conspiracy sites and he’s turned 180. Donald Trump, the champion of free market disaster capitalism, greed, self interest and discrimination against anybody who a isn’t white middle class racist. Has suddenly become the hero of free thinking people, he’s been sent to ‘drain the swamp’ expose the pedophiles in the deep state and send them all to Guantanamo.

Is so ludicrous that’s it’s laughable. But usually rational thinking folk are allowing themselves to be hoodwinked by this ****. Believing that we’re the ones being fooled.

    Mental.

I agree....... So why do people vote for people who only do what the corporate lobbyist want them to do...... As we see in front of our eyes democracy is but an illusion of choice when really speaking your choice is limited and the already bought and payed for chums will do what's best for thy mates.

What's so laughable the ongoing cover up of child abuse or the fact no **** will take them on

Jon wedger pulled a case with the met years back..... The thin blue line kicked in and he got bullied and case file binned...... The lady in question went on to be queen bee in the metropolitan police force.

I agree to an extent. But what’s the alternative ? Don’t vote and have no say in the process ?

TheDemocratic process does allow for people like Jeremy Corbyn and Bernie Sanders. Although the right wing press will always set out to do a hatchet job on people who threaten their status quo.

It’s up to folk to inform themselves about what these people actually stand for. But sadly many don’t even get beyond an internet meme or a Magazine talk show.

A lot of the online conspiracy sites and subforums were overrun with right-wing lunacy and neo-Nazis about five years ago.
QAnon is the most prominent example at the moment, but there's been loads of it.

I don’t understand how anybody with a modicum of intelligence can’t see this.

Somebody like haig has gone from being a Labour Party member who was backing Jeremy Corbyn, to openly supporting a racist, misogynist nationalist, who is backed by actual fascists and neo nazis.

I'm not sure HIAG's the best example, as I don't know if he's actually serious about it, as it would appear that he has serious brain trauma if true.
People do follow this weird trend for what they see as outsiders, though.
There was a whole astroturfed movement for it in 2016 to get Bernie Sanders supporters to go to Trump.
They're opposed on virtually everything, but some people just wanted change and took whatever was being offered.

I know two ex-hippie types that went down the hole.

One was very lonely and found solace in alt right 'pals' online.

She became very aggressive and angry that we could not see; she has come out of the hole now but is too embarrassed to see us again now.

The phenomenon of swinging from radical left to far right isn’t really a new one. During the Weimar Republic, the Nazis and the KPD (Communist Party Deutschland) where both trying to recruit from the same disenfranchised, embittered demographic.

Recruiting over the Internet is a new phenomenon though. It does look as though the far right have been conducting a well orchestrated and successful campaign, to suck in unhappy people looking for simple answers to complex questions.
