This is the kind of match I look forward to. Man City will not park the bus and will play open attacking football, which should allow spurs to exploit the space.

We just need to win. Not asking for much.

Bergwijn in the XI. Interesting, looked like he’d dropped quite far down the pecking order in recent games.

Scored against them last season, but he's not looked fit in this one and the Netherlands sent him home injured in the break.
    Interesting bench.

    Aurier and Dier <yikes>
So at least 1 penalty, 1 own goal and 4 foul throws plus a last minute terrace invasion <whistle>

Bale on the bench when he’s as fit as he’s been for the last 18months

Bergwijn hasn’t look good for months yet starts.

    Sissoko starts in midfield.

    Weird selection by Maureen

Yeah some good attacking options to call on.

Sanchez still not in the squad though, think his days are numbered. Apparently was involved in a punch up on international duty too, not sure how reliable the source was though.

I get Sissoko, as he wants two physical players in against their midfield quality to start with.
An unfit looking Bergwijn, presumably on the right, when he just got sent home from international duty? Not so much.
I'd have started Moura, as I still don't think that Bale's 100%. Stick him in against Ludogorets on Thursday.

I also would've considered starting Rodon, though it might be a bit early. Shame he's not available in the week.

Whats that Jose like eh <laugh>

    Tottenham
will be able to call on Steven Bergwijn for their Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday.

The Netherlands forward scored on his Spurs debut in the corresponding fixture last year but missed the international break due to an unspecified injury - although he is in contention this weekend.

He wasn't injured. He wasn't match fit, according to the staff for the Netherlands.

Bringing Bale on fresh later in the game could well be a great tactic, as opposed to having to take him off at 60 minutes in what might be a crucial period of the game.

The Dutch sent him home as they considered him to be unfit. As I said ,subtle difference

Just read what Jose had to say about Dean after the Sunderland game in 2013. Gave them a late dubious penalty.

Did he say that he respects the ref's decision and he has a hard job, so any mistakes are perfectly understandable?
