Well, normally I would be on my way to Haydock for one of my favourite days racing in the year, but not to be, only the 2nd miss of this racing day in about 12 years now I think...!! Bllomin Covid ballox...!! Anyway, here's my picks for the card today... 12:10 - Do Your Job, 9/4 On the upward curve and could pounce if the other two in the market fight it out at the head of the race... 12:40 - Deise Aba, 8/1 One i have in my tracker as a future big time chaser, and in the Hemmings colours you know thats what he wants from his horse... 1:15 - Dashel Drasher, 3/1 Has over 350 days to brush off but won lto at the course... 1:50 - War Lord, 10/1 So many in this one who could win with Arrivederci & Umbrigado both having my money on em in the past. But dosnt have much to find to match those 2 so he's my pick at a bigger price... 2:25 - Imperial Alcazar, 13/2 Just think it's a cracking e/w bet... 3:00 - BDM, 3/1 His jumping cost him last year imo, went right through 2 of em down the back straight, and lost out by a short margin in the end. Hoping he pings out at the front as his style once again and says catch me if you can...!! 3:35 - Pobbles Bay, 8/1 One of the few that will see out the 3m4f distance... Good luck to all who are playing today...
14:25 Haydock - Dolphin Square (For my Saturday wager a modest e/w at the generally available 12/1. Progressive sort with an excellent trainer, Philip Hobbs. Will be ridden by stable's first-choice jockey, Richard Johnson. Hopeful of a good run in this long-distance hurdle.) Best of luck today everyone!
Call Me Lyreen wins again. I put it up here before its first race about whispers from the elliot stable that it was very good. Unbeaten in 3 now.
Well done, Red, with War Lord! Haydock certainly is a 'bog' now, and ground really 'found out' Dolphin Square.
Superb performance from Song For Someone - really flew up the straight and pinged the last. Nicholls has got his work cut out with Laurina
Well done Bristol backers - perfect ride from Jacob and a perfect round of jumping. Clan Des Obeaux ran with great credit but just doesn't get that last furlong quite so well. Lostintranslation very disappointing and perhaps would have been better with a prep? Might have had an issue of course.
Great attitude by BDM, eben with the omg whats CDO doing thete next to me then pulled away... Love that horse...!!
Pretty accurate assessment. When Nigel Twisters isn't bullish that's a good sign. Really pleased for the horse too..he deserved that..
