Getting a bit annoyed this morning reading comments from people who'll either refuse to be vaccinated or wish to wait and see. One of my best mates is in the refuse camp and so we won't be holidaying together as families in the future unless he changes that stance.

Thoughts from the forum please ?

People have to make their own choices. I would assume once vaccines are rolled out throughout the world, it could be a travel condition, much the same as conditions apply with vaccinations with certain countries already. But I don't really know, other than making my own choice, what the rest of my family do is also their choice.

If something goes wrong and the vaccination ends my life for whatever reason (worse case scenario), well I'm past my sell by date anyway, but I certainly wouldn't be giving advice to a younger person, because quite simply, I'm not qualified to do so.

I’m in the wait and see camp. If I’m unable to travel without it, then I will have to.

Vaccines are tested for a good number of years before being rolled out. No long term effects are going to be found within 10 months of testing. That’s how I see it.

Therefore @Jammy 07 , I don’t think we should holiday with each other for a while.

Fair enough...it's unlikely you're up to my standard on the slopes anyway <laugh>

Having been vaccinated for yellow fever, cholera, typhoid and probably others I can't even remember then yes I understand peoples concern. It's also about the greater good though and bringing this pandemic and deadly virus under control. Many have worked on the front line throughout and some have paid with their lives treating the sick and dying. The very least I can do is take a minimal risk by getting vaccinated when it's passed as safe by the relevant authority.

At the moment, I would have the jab, I expect I'd be made to have it anyway, as I have to go back into hosp.

However, if after the first million have been vaccinated, if people start popping their clogs, or getting enormous growths on their head, then I may reconsider.

But seriously, my main reason, I like to travel, so needs must.

Personally I like the sound of the Oxford/Astra Zenica one the best in terms of risk, but that's based on the most basic of research. As you say it's always best to seek out the advice of qualified professionals <ok>

It seems that exactly the same people who are crying their eyes out about the lockdown, are also adamant they won’t take the vaccine. Go figure. Bill Gates or something probably.

As for the general populous, personal choice I suppose. I can understand why some would be dubious of such a quickly developed vaccine, but it’s about balancing risk imo. If you’re in a risk group or elderly you’d be plain daft not to have it imo.

If I was in a high risk group, I would say otherwise. I’m relatively young so we’ll wait it out unless circumstances regarding travel says otherwise.

Yeah I can understand people being sceptical about what gets put into them but not when they’re the people who shag drug dealers and eat Rustlers.
