They could combine it, as I doubt the deceased would count on the attendance, and getting enough in at a time means the kids parties could use the coffins as novelty tables, especially at Halloween. I'm sure there's something to include for the weddings, it's just a case of thinking outside of the box/coffin.

I dont think they asked the Brain of Britain to come up with this. Surely those areas in tier 1 could have 30% of their capacity in the ground, tier 2 = 20%, tier 3 = 10%.
This 4k lark, if I've got it right, lacks joined up thinking.

When we go back to opening grounds I would love to see the club organise a testimonial game for Chris Chiltons family. A proper game to fill the ground could generate the funds to really help him out. I would buy a ticket even if I couldn’t attend.

So if say London was in tier 1 Arsenal/Tottenham for example could have 20k in the ground? I think that'd be very hard to police allowing for social distancing. Not particularly in the seats but on the streets around the ground and on the concourses inside the stadium before and after the game.

When I see pictures of London streets I see little evidence of social distancing so will it make a big difference at a football match?

To be fair I've been in London a lot during both lockdowns and it's pretty quiet if you avoid 7-9am and 4-6pm. Some tube stations I've been the only person on the platform at times. The media obviously make it look much busier then it is as it helps with their narrative etc. But on a whole I've found it really quiet

They would count. It's all about getting bodies in the box.

    Sorry.

We are told by the anti lockdown lot that the BLM protests and the Extinction Rebellion ones where a lot of people were in close proximity did not lead to spike in infections so why should crowds of football fans lead to one. There won't be as many in one place for as long a period as they will only be near people going in out of the stadium.

Talking to someone yesterday who is a prominent figure with the Ex-Tigers fund raising activities.
Chris has already had a testimonial, some ex players never got one. There has also been three fund raising events for Chris, some ex players haven't had a sniff of one. Also where do you draw the line ? It is a difficult one.
I think the club have gone beyond expectations with the 222 range of clothing.

Maybe stagger the entry and leaving. A stand at a time. Easier said than done I know.

Not sure I'd like to marshall 20k Arse fans, especially if they've lost!

When we won there 2-1 a geezer actually shook my hand and said 'well done', whilst to some others losing a game of football was like a declaration of war.
    Welcome to my world.

Not a problem. They'll be quiet (like a library) and would have left before the end in dribs and drabs.

If it was like the Cup Final many had done one before the trophy was lifted. Social distancing 6 years early.

There needs to be a mandatory Health Insurance policy coverage written into club/player contracts to help cushion the risk of getting dementia - for this type of occupational hazard for which evidence is mounting.

The premiums would obviously be higher than normal health insurance coverage, the PFA etc & footballer unions should insist on it's existance.

The astronomical TV money in the game, absurdly high salaries at the "elite clubs" in the top leagues should somehow be used to subsidize lower league clubs to cover some of the expenses needed to help pay the premiums for these lower league clubs.

Given not all pro players will end up with dementia from heading the ball - the funded health insurance pot may end up with a surplus in future years and could therefore be used to reduce future premiums through actuarial analysis of historical data & trends.

Who says the pubs will be open when fans are readmitted to stadiums?

I had been drinking for years before we could have a pint after 10pm on a Sunday and 10.30 pm in a pub. Some daft sods call that the good old days and want to go back to that with them shut in the afternoon like those good old days.

Will there be cases of dementia from playing now given the balls are so very different?

I don't know. The lighter balls have probably been around for at least 30 years, so stats in the next 5-10 years may start indicating whether there has been any shift in dementia rates in footballers.
One fact that would need to be evaluated is that despite being less heavy, the force of impact of the lighter balls may well be higher given the speed they travel & hence impact the forehead & "shake" the brain.
