I do look forward to Jones playing in midfield with Fabinho and Thiago. Think he will get ever more space and really go from strength to strength

Thought Williams was very very good. Bar one missed header right at the start of the second half for that chance, didn’t put a foot wrong.

I wouldn’t mind having him and Matip at CB tongrt Fabinho back into midfield. Kid looks like he’s loving it at the moment and riding high.

Jones again really impressed me. Didn’t do an awful lot attacking wise but on the ball around 18 yard box he has quick feet against against weaker defenders will create that bit of space to get a shot away. Looks comfortable both feet which is good in the middle of the pitch as defenders can’t show him onto one or the other.

José says Spurs dominated the game and the best team lost.<doh>
    We had 76% possession.
    17 shots to 8
    11 to 2 on target.
And.... we scored 2 to their 1.
    Yeah, right José.

He was good tonight, he's starting to exert more influence in games. More game time is breeding confidence.

I moaned about Jones being a bit light weight a few weeks ago, he's arguably been our best player since. Be interesting when Fabinho can return to midfield and Thiago is back, with Hendo and Wijnaldum in there too.

Got to say, his frame, hair style and ability to beat players reminds me of Mcmanaman. Plus him wearing number 17, pretty sure Macca wore that for a time too.

Williams missed 2/3 headers that I can recall where he misjudged the flight, but I remember Gomez doing that a fair bit when he started too. Lots of promise tbh, a bigger test tonight of his concentration too as well as his positioning as they didn't have much of the ball.

Jones looks so comfortable already, I can't wait to see him improve over the next few years. Could be a huge part of this team.

Gini and Hendo were amazing tonight, they just kept things ticking over and never wasted possession. Gini stepping forward and carrying the ball a bit more - similar to how he plays for Holland - and Hendo is just a phenominal captain.

He's 19! You would never have guessed that watching tonight's performance, you'd think he was a mainstay.

I was a bit worried about Williams wandering upfield a few times, given the speed with which Kane&Son can break, but it turned out ok.
Whatever Mourinho says, football won tonight.

Love it when any Spurs get put in their place.

For a clubs that has won two League cups in 30 something years their fans are awfully full of themselves. And oppositions think we're entitled.

By far the better team, slightly better finishing and we could have been out of site by half time.

Midfield was excellent, defence very good, Williams was OK in general, but if you consider it was his first prem start at 19 against Kate and son, he was fantastic, only going to get better.

Its rare I moan about an individual refereeing performance, more because I think they are all ****e than anything, but **** me, just because he falls over after loosing the ball, doesn't mean its a spurs free kick ref. Additionally if he's getting kicked but doesn't go down screaming you can still give a free kick to the Liverpool player.

I will also resist the urge to gloat and say called it.

We definitely deserved to win that game. One was trying to win it and the other sitting back and catch the opposition on the break. We had more than 2 thirds of the possession, more attacks, more play in the opposing third. Having said that, we still needed a bit of luck. We could have gone 1-2 down if Bergwin had not fluffed his chances.

Still something up with Mané btw, seems well off the pace. Out muscled and out paced

hmm thought he played well today. Thought aurier actually defended against him wel but mane got better of him few times. Was unlucky with the shot that hit the bar as well.

and he offered a real outlet with a longer ball up top. For someone so small he manages to bring the ball down against centre backs rewlly well and allowed us to get up
