"Did Grandad die in the war Mam?"

"No pet, they made him play football during a pandemic and he died from the virus."

FFS, when will they realise this is killing thousands and is spread by coming into contact with other people.

Football has been my life but you couldn't pay me to go to a match at the moment.

Whoever is in charge and letting this shower of **** go on is a ****ing joke. While you're at the most severe level of restrictions, football needs to ****ing stop.

Money is becoming far too ****ing important to life.

Its been the clubs only source of income all year, the town has raised over £20000 to help pay off debts and keep the club going.

It's been the driving force of society for hundreds of years tbh and a pandemic isn't going to change that. I think it's a bit daft the EFL couldn't have found the cash for a comprehensive on going testing program if they were expecting matches to continue though. I've no doubt plenty more games will end up being called off and still think more than a few clubs will go under, especially if you have a league wide firebreak stoppage.

Hope we get something sorted with the French as well to allow normal working folk to return home. Be ****e sitting in a truck for Christmas day like, not on at all.

I think that what irritates most people is when someone takes a very one sided political view.

One side can do no wrong, while the other can do no right.

Using your example, if The PM is personaly responsible for all the failings of his Government, then condem Boris by all means.
But if you wish to appear to have a fair view of politics you should apply the same dictum to the Party you support as well.

So Mr Blair was responsible for the 'Dodgy Dossier', that sent many UK troops and Arab civilians to so much death and misery.

Mr Brown was responsible for the Banks being totaly unprepared for the Financial Collapse in 08.

Rather like walking a tightrope, it's all a matter of balance.

As a matter of balance have you done that or do you believe he's blameless ...

    ... and that's a genuine question mate.

In fairness that's because we are dealing with a virus that is 70% more transmissible.

If the thread was entitled Tony Blair,Gordon Brown and the global financial crisis then it may have been pertinent. If not it isn't. Simples.

Can't blame the French, closing the borders, in that case.

Christmas Eve now, off to church in the village and will say a prayer for everyone.

    Happy Christmas.

I think he's a clown in most respects.
However, he promised to get us out of The EU, and unlike many Manifesto promises, this one was kept.
I voted for his Party for this outcome.
So in that respect I'm happy with him.

As a person he seems to have little to recommend him.

I think he inherited an awfull problem in covid.
The last similar outbreak was 101 years ago when Spanish Flue killed more people than World War 1.
The World has changed so much since then that there was nothing to be learned from that episode.
There was no prepared plan anywhere in the world, as far as I know and each country muddled along as best it could, (and continues to do so).
At each step he seems to have done what seemed like a good idea at the time, though his balance between what the Science required and what the public wanted has been skewd towards what voters want. But he is a Politician remember.
With the benefit of hindsight, he could have done better, but if criticism is to have any merit at all it has to be spontaineous.
So, since I went along with him at the time I have no cause to complain now, in retrospect.

It is fair to pint out that I dislike most Politicians although there are exceptions.
Chris Mullins was one that I was happy to vote for.
Thats not to say I always agreed with him.
But I never doubted his honesty or integrity.
Otherwise my vote goes to whoever is standing against the sitting member, unless, like BREXIT, I feel strongly about something.

But blind, apparantly unthinking, loyaly worries me.
It lacks reason and, it seems to me, logic.
However, even here I have a blind spot as like many former members of The Armed Services I confess to loyalty to The Crown.
But don't ask me to get logical about that!!

Like how much the righties love being lied to. And saying this person and that person would have done a worse job is completely redundant, you voted Tories you got the man you wanted as he has ****ed everything up what's more they've broke the law repeatedly.

Corbyn wanted less than a billion to put into the NHS as all the righties played the 'no magic money tree' card then Boris goes and prints 22billion to give to his mates. Alarm bells ringing that they've been lied too, of course not? Let's go on believing their crap <laugh>

It's your man in charge an he's robbed this country blind while killing thousands.

Suck it up. You've voted in somebody who has destroyed the country. Not the lefties, you lot.

As for Starmer he's a ****ing snake but the stupid public will vote him in next. Either that or the banker who helped cause the economic crash and who is currently in charge of our economy <doh>

Boris needs to go (and he will once he's stolen as much as he can) but the replacement won't solve our problems who ever it is.

✅ No role for the European Court of Justice and no requirement to follow EU law

✅ A zero tariff and zero quota arrangement

✅ Recognition of the UK’s sovereignty over our fishing waters

✅ Britain outside the Single Market and Customs Union

✅ Co-operation on law enforcement and emerging security challenges

✅ Protections for the UK’s internal market and Northern Ireland's place within it
I’m pissed or I would have just written shove it up your hoop.<laugh>

Spot on, Roochy . . . . Cameron ****ed off, May deliberately dithered, and Boris did it :emoticon-0105-wink:

He'll not get any credit/recognition from some for getting this impossible task done, though . . . . where most would fear to tread :emoticon-0148-yes:

History of all other nations other than ours show that Browns rescue package for the banks was the savior of the banking system after the American instigated collapse. Only our right wing supporting media put the blame on him..

Er, and between these two events, Boris, who had never been a Brexiteer before and only backed Brexit 'cos he thought Remain would win and he could cover himself in patriotic glory with no consequences, shat himself & ran away and didn't even dare challenge May for the leadership.

Just filling in the blanks in your continuity Gordon.
