I was listening to Talk Sport this evening and they posed a question: They believe that 90% of fans would take a Trophy over survival in the PL. I absolutely wouldn't given the amount of time we've been out of the top flight but a Leeds fan called in and said that he would accept relegation as long as we won a trophy. The presenters were surprised as it was a Leeds fan so asked, "even a League Cup?" He said yes, even a LC! What does everyone on here think?
Absolute CR@P 17th place is worth way more than any crappy cup The reserves need to play the FA Cup next month, and I absolutely do not care if they lose. The cup means the √ of SFA
Winning a cup but going down with this squad would be dangerous. Bielsa would surely leave and this squad would struggle to get back up without him. It may lead to another long wait to get back up. Stay up, collect the money, invest it in the infrastructure, youth setup and squad and build the club to a point where relegation shouldn't be a problem.
For now definitely, club is in a strong position and the potential to improve is there. If we finish 12th, 10th, 15th, 17th and 14th over the next 5 seasons, I'll take the FA Cup and relegation in season 6.
Who said you could? My suggestion was that you could win the Champions League the same year that you get relegated. Remember, you qualify for the CL the year before, when you're top 4 in the PL. Clear now?
