This is tonight's big match, Jupiter and Saturn in conjuction for the first time in 400 years, visible in the southwest sky from 5.30ish this evening. ..
Hoping for some clear skies later... We watched the solstice this morning from Stonehenge, and although last night they had a lovely sunset today was a bit of a damp dreary one.
They've changed all our streetlights recently (again) and the new LED ones have very little backlight which makes for great viewing of the stars - we'll be headed over to the park as we don't get much of a view to the south because of the hill we live on
It's to be clear on 24th so should be visible then - unbelievable last night, skies cleared at about 7:30 by which time it had gone below the horizon did see some shooting stars from one of the meteor showers that's up there at the moment though!
Very chilly but very clear skies tonight .....I know nothing about the night sky but I think the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction is visible, at about 4 o’clock from the moon. Saw it while walking the dog, and can see it out of the window now. I have had a lot of Chablis though. Merry Christmas!
If you look right and lower left, than you can see Venus. Another bottle of Chablis should cancel that out though. It doesn't really matter. Merry Christmas mate.
