It seems like it's the "i"s that get people.

Matty Jacob, one of City’s young professionals who hasn’t yet made his debut but has been on the first team bench a couple of times, is the grandson of Geoff Barker.

Has there ever been a grandson/grandfather combo that both played for City?

Really random question, but this might be the best thread for it:

When was the last time City had two games in a row postponed before 2020?

It might be easier to google but I thought it might be worth asking some of the older lot on here because I can't remember two in a row getting postponed. ONe, absolutely, but two? No idea.

I would guess the year of the "Big Freeze" - 1963, second half of the season, City would have had 2 or even more consecutive fixures cancelled. The FA/Pools companies even set up a "Pools Panel" to determine results (W,D,L)/(H,D,A) to allow the gambling public to get their fix even when many matches were cancelled due to the weather.

My husband says that City played no league matches in January and February of 1963. They did play an FA Cup tie in Feb which went to a replay which they lost at home.

Wow. That was a great away day.

Left YEB about 7.30. Drunk all our cans by 9.

It was singing, laughing and pissing about all the way there.

Think we lost two none, but they didn't score until well into the second half. Gave a good account of ourselves.

Coach took a few bricks on the way out. At one set of traffic lights some daft lad got out of the emergency exit and offered a load of theirs out. As they started to run him he turned to reboard the coach only to find that the lights had turned green and the coach had driven off.
Much shouting at the driver ensured that the coach stopped and he was able to dive back onboard before we drove off at speed gesturing obscenely at the persuing mob.

    Happy days.

Good to see photographs of Boothferry Park in real condition before it was run down and demolished. My last visit to BP was Saturday August 21st, 1993. I was working in the USA and brought my family over for a holiday. Called at the ticket office and told them I was a long time supporter from the 1940s and they graciously gave me three tickets for the Directors Box. It was the home opener against Plymouth Argyle with Player/Managed Peter Stilton. Shilts wasn’t playing in this game as was injured but we were just above him as he performed his managerial duties. Who was playing was a young Deano who scored a goal in the 2-2 draw.

Did you go to the first match there YT? You were probably living at Paull in 1946 so may not have made it.
