Its like Kevin Phillips, one amazing season and lived off it. Fernandes fell apart last summer and utd fell out of everything. Leicester had more injuries and blew a massive lead. Otherwise utd would probably have sacked off one. Fernandes is another ozil. Lots of assist but has a tonne of pens to pad it out as well. In general play its not near kdb
i think he’s a great player tbh. If he has a poor game, invariably Utd do. Everything runs through him. So stop him and you shackle Utd. I haven’t seen the lack of application that, say Ozil, has if I’m honest but I do agree KdB is better.[/QUOTE]
What i mean is he has the effect of the level of assists ozil used to get from set piece and all sorts but yes his style is completely different. He wants to be busy, whereas ozil was always chilled out to the point of being asleep. The one thing I'm surprised about is that the rubbish like everton and West brom have not just man marked him out of the game. He doesnt strike me as the type to be able to cope. But anyway as I said a nice run 6-2-0 in league with 2/3 big late goals in there but embarrassingly poor cl exit and Cup semi exit again. Man utd fans are again bigging up martial. On a hot streak so inevitably 10 games of diabolical form is incoming Its the same kind of thing that mourinho will do when it comes to rashford. Its almost inevitable he will get another injury thats severe the way agent ole over plays him. Pogba again getting his balls locked and another who will pass to the opposition when he gets in a strop. Then theres maguire who they have decided is world class again.
I think he plays between the lines very effectively and actually gets on the end of a lot. Pogba is more like Ozil - just does the parts of the game that he fancies doing on the day. Utd are a good counter-attacking team but limited going forward and have scraped results together over the last few weeks, they weren’t the best team in most of those matches but hey, results breed results and the are a good shout for top four. City will win this league at a canter if we do not buy a CB and improve quickly.
City are our only credible rivals I agree but they are not favourites yet. We may have hit a blip but even then we are still top. We need to get some away form and win these matches. Our home form is great apart from that WBA aberration and we should be confident against a more tired MU, who will have played a tough game against Burnley before the Anfield match.
why are you using mito’s post with my name on it, followed by my post? Are you trying to make it look like I’m disagreeing with myself? Edit - now I see what, somehow Mito’s quote was not shown as that And my quote is shown in your message. Weird
I have to be honest. I don't really care what happens tonight. It's a week on Sunday I care about. We play the scum at home. There's a huge amount riding on that game. It's a six pointer and if we lose, it's a 3 year plus period undefeated at home that's down the pan. The ****s would never let us forget it
Given we have such a long time until we play United, I wouldn't be surprised to see more seniors than expected. Its a great chance to give players who more minutes such as Milner, Ox, Shaq, Taki and maybe even Thiago.
I disagree in that I think Fernandes is the one that has put them on this run. They suddenly looked much better last season with his arrival.
Michael Oliver explaining what the refs got wrong for the VVD / Pickford challenge. the main takeaway from me is that the players didn’t challenge the ref. Not that we should have to but I wish we weren’t so nice
So he doesn't attempt an important and obvious decision because the players never asked him to - he bases his decisions to give a red card on whether opposition players ask for one? Yeah, right. Ridiculous excuse. Surely the fact that a player has to be taken off with a serious injury is enough to make you at least examine the event that led to it? There are so many things wrong with that statement I can't be bothered going into it. It just looks like a weak attempt at retrospective mitigation of incompetence on his part and particularly David Coote's.
