Apart from the "changing a side for no apparent reason...."
GM brought in Magennis, who played well. KLP and Wilks had the off game....

Let's face it, GM could win the league this season and some will still talk about last season!

You are right about the pitch. Just looked it up, KCOM is 105 metres long theirs is 101 metres, KCOM is 68 metres wide theirs is 66 metres. Though pitch size shouldn't make any difference to the style you play anyway.

but that's missing the point - by playing Magennis it meant we played in a different way to which we should have been - we kept lumping it up to Magennis and dragged ourselves to a hoof ball game - if we hadn't started Magennis we would have played much more along the ground and should have tried to find spaces behind their back four - Wilks should be warming the bench, his decision making is abysmal - White and Cowley should be starting

Souness used to narrow the pitch at Ibrox during his tenure back in the 80's....

'Typical City'....If I had a quid for every time I heard that, I'd have a grand, minimum.
Reminded me of going to Nottm For on a Saturday, winning, not breaking sweat and looking like champs, then going to Barnsley on the Tuesday, losing and looking like chumps. Seen it many times before. And no doubt I'll see it again before I shuffle off this earth.

Got to win on Saturday against no hopers Swindon.. You know the script!

Lincoln, Sunderland and Doncaster all winning. All those teams have games in hand on us.

Doncaster are 3 points behind us with 3 games in hand.

Lincoln are 3 points ahead with a game in hand.

Sunderland 6 points behind with a game in hand.

Accrington 9 points behind with 4 games in hand.

Tonight's defeat wasn't the end of the world, but we're at a bit of a disadvantage once all the other games are played.

The key to getting promoted is consistency, which we don't seem to have at the moment. One or two games we look like a dominant force, then we follow up with dismal performances like this. We have to start putting winning runs together if we want to go up, never mind finish top.

For some reason I've always fancied having the points as opposed to the games in hand....Wasn't pretty tonight but I'm pretty hopeful of an assured performance this Saturday. That would give us 9 points from a possible 12 in our last 4 games, that's reasonable form.

Don't know old you are but teams like Man City with Lee Bell and Summerbee were renowned for playing free flowing football with wingers but the pitch was one of the narrowest in the top flight, same with other clubs like the great Wolves side.. When Scarborough were in the league their pitch was thec second largest by area after Doncaster.
It makes me laugh when you hear commentators saying how difficult it was to contain Barcelona in the wide open spaces on the large Nou Camp pitch. It is exactly the same size as our pitch.

Pompey lost we lost Peterborough got a tame home draw......we're not the only bottlers.

We need to tough it out on nights like these against tinpot teams whose cup final it is.

6 points out the last 9, two games of the three away from home.

Terry could indeed win this league, but unfortunately that's not going to happen. Looking like we'll lose around a quarter of our matches which for me means the lottery of the play offs at best. Hope we make top 2 but as others have said we need more consistency

Two away games yielding 3 points - could be worse. I do think when we’ve had a settled side and won two games, making a few changes throws up this kind of result. The team play differently when Magennis starts, we stop the neat passing.

If we lost a quarter of our matches there's a fair chance we'd win the league or finish second.
