Good luck to Graham, and a big thanks to Geoff who in my opinion has done an excellent job under very difficult circumstances.

Good luck to Graham, I spoke to Geoff a few days ago and knew this was coming but had no idea when. He's done a great job as far as I'm concerned and hope Graham can continue it.

    HCST - Club Contact Update

Further to requests from a number of members the Trust has issued the following update on ongoing communication between HCST and Hull City.

The Trust Chairman was invited by the club Vice Chairman to attend an informal meeting which took place at the KCOM Stadium at the end of 2020.

No specific items were discussed, however an indication was made that the club were now in a position whereby they would like to begin working with the Trust going forward.

The Vice Chairman suggested holding a further meeting where specifics could be discussed.

Unfortunately due to lockdown restrictions and Covid issues, it has not been possible for this meeting to take place yet, although we are hopeful this will take place soon.

The Trust is in regular communication with the club and have recently raised the issue of club memberships given the ongoing Covid-19 issues and have been assured this is something the club is reviewing on an ongoing basis.

We will update members of progress once the proposed second meeting has taken place.

Good to hear finally the club has come to its senses and is accepting the Trust back into the fold so to speak.

It's just the preference, if it remains impractical, then it will be online instead.

Good news, but why now? Is it because Geoff has stepped down?

Just a quick thanks to fans who supported me in this evenings Football Supporters Association AGM either by voting or sending best wishes

I am delighted to confirm I managed to secure one of the three individual National Council seats and I will serve for the next two years.

This is great news as it gives me and Hull City Supporters Trust an opportunity to represent City fans Nationally at a time when there are major changes coming both locally as well as Nationally when Tracy Crouch publishes her Fan Led Review next week.

HCST Statement - East Stand Issues

In view of the ongoing issues in the East Stand, the club have invited us to a meeting on Tuesday with themselves and the SMC to explain the rationale behind their decisions. We will report back after this meeting and ask for members feedback.

Another whitewash job then. Just show them other stadiums where they manage with one aisleway as segregation not complete sections. And tell them that any suggestion City have a reputation for being a dangerous place to go is laughable.

Nothing will alter. The campaign to make the MKM a soulless place with everyone sat like at a theatre whilst away fans stand and outsing the home crowd goes on.

    East Stand Issues Meeting Feedback
BY HCST SECRETARY ON DECEMBER 24, 2021HCST NEWS

A meeting was held between the Club and the Trust, together with a representative of the OSC regarding issues in the East Stand.

The reasons for the increased security presence is a safety issue. Fans were seen to be migrating from other areas of the stand into E2 and E3 and therefore exceeding the capacity of those areas. There had also been issues, in these areas with fans reporting to the Club that they and their children were increasingly feeling intimidated. They had also received a number of complaints of injuries being sustained in these areas due to the overcrowding.

A visit by the Sports Ground Safety Authority had also noted these problems. Ultimately if these issues were not dealt with they have the authority to restrict ground capacity, or, in extreme circumstances, close the ground.

The Club therefore has introduced checks to prevent the migration of fans and, after concerns were raised, acknowledged that stewarding has not always been up to the standards they would wish for. It has therefore introduced further steward training, with the aim to increase awareness of the skills required at a football stadium, as opposed to other venues.

We were assured these measures are under constant review and will be scaled back when deemed safe to do so. This has already been demonstrated by memberships and match by match tickets being back on sale in these areas.

The Trust fully support the club in matters of fan safety, and will continue to pass on fans concerns to the club.

It's a bit much to expect the club to have pointed out the nature of that area to people daft enough to buy tickets there unknowingly, but I wondered if anyone there considered suggesting offering those that don't want to be in a raucous area the opportunity of a seat move so that an atmosphere can be encouraged.
