David Coles our GK coach has left the club with immediate effect for personal family reasons

Oztumer's recall period has now expired according to hashtag twitter and he is now staying for the rest of the season

Just over 24 hours to go until the transfer window closes and not so much of a hint of an incoming striker.

Tommy Widdrington is stealing a living at our club.

Still nothing. If we don't get a striker, we are down. Simple as that. I would have Tom Nichols back right now to be honest. All is forgiven Tom.

Totally agree - TN has obviously remembered how to do what he does best, so he would undoubtedly do what we need him to. I'd even have Matty Taylor back if it meant we would start winning a few games - I can put the past behind me (until we were mathematically safe) at least!!! Not looking too promising for a striker at present I'm afraid.

    Danny Graham?

    Blimey.

Believe it when I see it.

Meanwhile, Oxford have signed Elliott Lee from Luton. Not a bad signing at all.

    100 minutes to go.

We’re not signing anyone, are we?

I have just looked on the Sunderland forum - to a man they are glad to see the back of Danny Graham, reckon he scored 1 goal in 51 appearances for them, and basically 'stole a living' whilst at Sunderland. Not one decent comment and all seem to think he was constantly overweight and unfit. Their forum doesn't fill me with confidence, if he really is heading our way!!

Why is it that most of our rivals have signed strikers, is our head of recruitment being ignored or are we just not looking, Will Grigg joined MK Dons Cheltenham signed to strikers as have other clubs in our division.

thought the idea of a head of recruitment was that you were able to move for players a bit earlier than your rivals

If as I now think we will go down at the end of this season do you think that players like Nicholson Hanlan Westbrooke Grant and Kilgour will want to stay at the club that said the aim was to push for playoff places / promotion this season

If the worst happens and we drop into league 2, I think the majority of the current side, if not all of them, will move on, giving us the chance to rebuild from scratch with players that want to fight for the badge. I honestly think our current squad would fail to make much impression in div 2, and unfortunately, the handful I would like to see us keep would be the ones that would probably choose to move elsewhere. Being a Gashead this season has had the same effect as the pandemic - stopped everything in its tracks, brought everyone crashing down to earth disillusioned, disappointed and frustrated. On the other hand, we might somehow survive the season, then we can go through this all over again next season, so it's not all bad! Seriously though, despite all the doom and gloom at the moment, I am still incredibly grateful for Wael's financial input this season, I know we are moaning about the apparent lack of recruitment and strengthening etc, but let's not forget that we are lucky to have a club to support, however poor they may be, and the alternative doesn't bear thinking about!

I'm sure we'll be ok. The biggest problem has been all those really soft goals we've been conceding lately. JVS is a better keeper than the new lad, and obviously Annsi Jakkola makes all the difference. Daly makes a big difference - he makes things happen and scores, and I would also play some of the creative players like McCormick a lot more. Improve the dead ball defending and the results will come.

Im so deflated about the club right now. I really cant be assed anymore. I wont be watching or listening tonight.

I will check the result later though and...

If we lose I will be like.... How predictable.
If we win I will be like.... Meh!

If we lose the next couple of games I hope the board will look to replace a manager that doesn't seem to be able to galvanise the team so the new guy can maybe keep us up but at least have an idea which players want and are fit enough to put in a shift for us so we can try to bounce back next season

I’m very impressed (and slightly jealous!) that after all these years you still stay so optimistic about Rovers Gastro.

    I wish I could!

If Daly comes back firing and, as you say, we cut out the soft goals and silly mistakes then hopefully we will be ok. I’m not holding my breath though as I would go bright blue!

We can still sign free transfers I believe but they would have to be U21s if he has registered all 22 places

It was a terrible performance, but at the end of the day it's only 3pts, and one to forget. The tactics were all wrong, because they kept hitting us on the break. If Tisdale had shut up shop like he did at Posh then we might have got something out of the game. I'm sick of seeing those soft goals from corners, and much as I don't like blaming the keeper, it's his job to organise those sorts of things. He's good at the reaction saves, but I don't rate the other side of his game. He's League Two at best. One for next season...

Jed Ward has signed his first professional contract with the Rovers He started his journey through the academy playing for the U9s
Agogo's injury is at the present time going to keep out for 12 weeks and Barrett for 8 weeks plus, so I am guessing they are both out for the remainder of the season

That should free up at least one of the squad numbers giving us the opportunity to sign a free agent.

But let’s face it - most free agents are just that because no-one wants them. The key to our L1 survival will be Tisdale getting more out of the players he’s got.
