Dead on their feet maybe but for only a few seconds. No need to give them an opportunity to pump a high free kick into our penalty area. 2 points squandered. ****ing ****.

Why even bring Tuanzebe on though?

Surely the best way to see out a game is to pin them back, not have them do it to us!

Bringing defenders on for a back to the wall job, when your backs aren't actually against the wall?

It's just basic. You're on top, stay on top.

That substitution cost us the game.

We played ok other than that. Apart of course from the mad ten minutes after half time, when we were panic striken.

I think I will be nervous like hell each time Tuanzebe is in the team. He’s scored own goals and given away dangerous free kicks.

I know what you mean but imo we needed subs earlier. Carlo brought on 3 subs just before and after our 3rd goal. Our passing was a sign of tired legs or maybe complacency but their subs bypassed our midfield at times. Even if it was Van de beek and Martial. Or dare I say Matic.

Gutted tbh. From being in total control in the first half to shambles in the second.

I hear the club has started negotiation with Pogba on a new deal. I actually think we need him.

I actually thought that we had one of our better games. We won before but played much worse. DeGea was at fault for the first and third. If Maguire stand still at the last free kick the Everton player is a yard offside. We have been naive and I was really worried that after that 9-0 win our defence was going to be our weak link. So it proved.

Why don’t we go to the corners when there are only a few seconds left. Our game management is really poor.

It's fairly significant that we were a whole lot worse without him than we were with him tonight.

Sounds mad to even say this, considering how often we have to have the conversation, but if he wants to stay, why would we sell?

He's a first team player, definitely. He'd always be in my team.

I think it was just the times we kept giving the ball away in the second half. Playing passes that were easily cut out or just giving it straight to them. Mostly in their half by the way.

We needed to kill their belief they could get back into the game, even at 3-2 and that needed us to hold on to possession and tire them out and it would've likely led to a 4th.

Having said that we had enough chances to score again. Fcking hell. Such a waste all round.

The way he's been playing for past 2 months he's made a real difference. Him and Fernandes are playing well together as well.

I'd have him in my starting 11.

I would be more than happy for City to walk this game, best team in the PL by a distance and could well be next season too.

Meaning the RS lose 3 games in a row at their sacred fortress <laugh> And if city keep a clean sheet, no goals scored by the home team in 3 successive games. A draw won’t be too bad but after today’s United **** up a City win probably the better outcome.

McTominay is 10 times the player Fred is btw. I wish we had two of him.

Fred offers very little. Most of his tackles result in free-kicks, he offers little going forward, but worst of all his positional sense and inability to read the game is criminal for a defensive midfielder. Everton's second was typical of that, he's caught in no man's land and clambering to get back to James. He offers the defence little protection in all honesty when the opposition have the ball. Just not good enough for United if we want to push on.

I agree and it amazes me that Ole doesn't try VDB in place of Fred. Mc T can do the midfield marshalling and VDB in the side would take some of the pressure off Bruno.

The problem I suppose is when McT is out. We have Matic and Fred to choose from as that defensive protector in front of defence. We need someone else imo if we want to progress further next season. Fred is really found out in big games and in the Champions League.

    And keep Pogba.

I think this is slightly unfair on Fred tbh.

He's not the most refined but he's a better bet than Matic, at least he's mobile.

He's had some pretty decent European games as well.

As it goes, a midfield three of Pogba, Fernandes and McTominay is a very good blend, with VDB and Fred as alternatives.

I don't think our problems lie here, it still lies with finding a reliable partner for Maguire.

    Plus right wing still.

The new signing Diallo is making a strong case for a PL start. Whether he can solve our right wing problem straight away is quite another thing but his presence in the squad makes it less likely we will need to sign Sancho

Diallo has been named in the Europy squad.

I don't want to get ahead of myself here but IF this lad is as talented as they say, the idea of Pogba, Fernandes, Diallo, Rashford all clicking sounds mouth watering.
