Our social outcast, Samarias had another brilliant game for his high flying Greek International side. Sammy scored the opening goal and was a threat throughout.

For Celtic it is almost 12 months since some people say he has starred for us.
    I wonder why ?
It couldn't be lack of confidence, surely not!
No professional footballer would allow home "fans" booing and shouting abuse to affect his play. Sure wasn't it the booing and ridicule that built fortress Celtic Park, where for years we could beat the best in Europe at home.
I remember now we did not have the loud abuse boys. we had 57,000 fans backing the team.
By the way Big Dan starred for High flying Sweden as well.
Isn't it great to see these players shine when they get away from the boo boys.
Would it be too much to ask the boo boys to shut up or stay at home.

Maybe he cares more about playing for Greece than he does for us?

As for the boo boys? Do you ever consider you're a tad prone to exaggeration?

Hear hear maybe if Celtic fans could concentrate on cheering on their players rather than obsessing about us they might get Samaras playing well

or maybe samaras is actually a reasonably able footballer playing in a poor system ?

ps ; "fortress Celtic Park " was built on good players and good tactics and good management , nothing else.

Calatron thanks for your usual stupid remark when I read your comments I always thank God I am a Celtic fan and not a stupid bear.
RogueLeader and Stereo I think that the players of Celtic, the management of Celtic and the players and management of the teams that visited us in the earlier years of this century all said that when they came to Celtic Park the crowd were the twelfth man and their singing and encouragement drove the team on.

Neil Lennon and some of the players have on rare occasions said the same but unfortunately the loud mouths overcome the decent sensible loyal Celtic fans and get their abuse out at some players.

If anyone could tell me one factual way by roaring abuse at a player or players can help the team that we are supposed to support, I won't mention this again.
I really cannot understand it, when I see a "fan" roaring abuse his face is always twisted up in anger.
Why be a season ticket holder, Why buy a match ticket when you know you will get into an angry rage. It is beyond me.

No one goes to a game with the intent of booing a player or roaring abuse upon anyone (apart from maybe the opposition.) However, when a player who is earning more per week than a lot of fans earn in a year and is incapable of doing what they are paid for then they can hardly be surprised when they are on the receiving end of boos.

Samaras is a striker is he not? Or at least a forward. You would expect a forward playing for either half of the Old Firm to score at least 15 domestic goals per season. It was John Hartson who said that any forward playing for Celtic or Rangers should be setting a minimum target of 20 goals per season based on the number of chances they get.

How many has Samaras scored this season and last?

Anyway, I think you are greatly exaggerating the amount of abuse rained down on Samaras and others.

Stereo I totally disagree with you that no one goes to a game with the intention of roaring abuse at players. OK I don't know their intentions but every time I see certain supporters I see and I hear them roaring the abuse. If they have not got the intention of shouting abuse they certainly don't stop themselves of doing it.
There is no way in this wide world that roaring abuse at your own players doesn't have an adverse affect not only on the player the abuse is directed but other players as well. Please someone please tell me how it can help our team or any of our players.

Calatron. You are a hateful bear, the last thing in this world that I want is a comment in support or otherwise from a h.n regarding our Celtic team or club. As a h.n you don't qualify for commenting on a club of our outstanding achievements. Just worry about the money your lot owe the queen: singing about her is not enough.

Do their ****ing job that they get well paid for and the booing stops. Simple as that.

If Samaras starts scoring goals (WHICH IS WHAT HE'S PAID TO DO) and stops trying to beat four players and falling on his fat arse then maybe people will stop "roaring" abuse at him.

Any Celtic fan will back any Celtic player............but it isn't a blind loyalty and fans have a right to show their anger.

It is not just one week, one month or one year where Samaras has shown a lack of consistency.

It is since he has arrived under three different managers who have shown faith in him where supporters have thought otherwise.

Bad positioning and bad decision making are the halmarks of his time at Celtic. The reason that performances like Ibrox at New Year stand out is that they are the shine on a highly polished turd.

100% spot on but SH seems to feel that we all should back a player who is consitantly disappointing! He has skill but fails to deliver 99% of the time!

    It beggars belief!

I have never said Samaras played well everyday. I think he is very inconsistently and can be very infuriating. But, how does booing him and shouting abuse at him help the team or him.
The people buying our season tickets and match tickets are supposed to be our fans.
The same empty heads roar abuse at the like of Samaras big Dan, loovens are the same people who I saw years ago roar at Petta and Agathe.
To me it takes a particular type of fan that can spend the money over several years, roaring abuse at players.
He destroys my day as well as his and I wish he stayed at home.
