Made a nice stir fry for the tea tonight, bit of a kick with the extra chillies. But, this afternoon, got myself busy making baklava for the first time - and I'm very pleased with the result... It tastes amazing too. Got a pot of ginger tea bubbling away and we're going to have a sweet feast!
Knew i shouldn't have looked in this thread, bloody starving and this don't help! Looks pretty fine that, Steels.
Home made vegetable and butternut squash curry, with lentil and spinach dahl on Basmati rice. Sides of popadums and naan bread. Bloody lovely.
Finally got round to cooking the sausage, chorizo and bean casserole from the Roasting Tin book - couldn't grt haricot beans so used some cannellini ones instead, added some garlic, extra chilli and a touch of smoked paprika to give it a bit of a kick which worked a treat. Very tasty - washed down with some diluting juice - dry January now leading into dry February!
Tried the same recipe Steels - similarly, extras of chilli and garlic - very enjoyable. Had tried the jack fruit and harissa - which wasn’t as successful. Deciding I’m not a big harissa fan.
Been mentioned a few times.. chicken, chorizo, black beans, corn etc. There is chicken in there, quite a lot of it. This was a good one.
I'm looking forward to getting an appetite back for any food at all. Haven't really fancied anything since my op and have lost 10lb (that's several kg).
I hope you're well Strolls. I didn't realise you had the op, I hope it went well. I can't wait for the day when we can share a pint again. All the best my friend.
I would love to add more to this thread, but it seems that we are rotating the same fourteen dinners every two weeks in recent times. Hopefully that will be the case when ( if ) restrictions are lifted?
