Absolutely, people with that mindset won’t change. If anything this has caused more divide and I know people who took no interest previously who have now voiced their opinions and if anything has angered them.

I’m a grown man, I don’t need anyone to tell me what is right or wrong or how I should feel, pig sick of it.

Irish Rugby allowed their players to choose yesterday ...

... they chose not to but that doesn't mean they're racist.

“It is important that players are free to demonstrate their support for this important issue in the way they see fit.

It is an entirely personal decision
and we respect each players’ right to make that choice.”

    So it should be, always.

Being coaxed into a protest isn't the worst thing in the world.

My issue, with it all, is that anyone doing it is accepting they're part of the problem, not necessarily part of the cause.

I keep hearing that if I'm not part of the solution I'm part of the cause ...

    ... sorry but, f**k off.

Agree, also my issue is the power salute, is that necessary? Notice I dare not give it its full name...

It seems to me that most good idea's end up being taken over by extreems, whether these be left or right matters not.

This particular gesture was always destined to 'die on the vine' and it could well be that it's time has come.

But none of this deminishes the message that it carried, that racism is alive and well and hasn't gone away.

And as long as those of us that are agaist racism are aware that this is a fight that still needs to be fought and are prepared to do what they can, then there is hope for the future, however distant that might be.

I don’t think it will ever go away and it will always exist, it isn’t just a one way street either.

You will struggle to change the mind of any extremist with any views, they’re called extremists for a reason. It’s time to stop giving them the airtime, it is a small minority on social media who are no doubt enjoying their views being aired on national television.

Pinning the entire movement on the back of a convicted American criminal was a daft idea. It meant it was tainted from the start and gave racists the perfect excuse to ridicule it. The slogan 'Black Lives Matter' invites the almost automatic retort of 'all lives matter' which dilutes the message imo.

If Floyd was totally innocent it would've carried more credibility. Saying 'yes he was in the process of committing a crime but didn't deserve such treatment' doesn't carry the same gravitas.

    Sorry but it's true

If the killing was undeniably racially motivated the whole thing would've had a solid foundation. Sadly, people deciding the officer was a racist, based on the colour of his skin, is as racist as can be. He may just be another useless bully boy cop at who's hands I've suffered myself.

Wilfried Zaha has announced he will no longer kneel as he has realised it is past its sell by date and meaningless. He will stand, proud, and so he should. Thank heavens for what I hope is the start of a return of common sense and dignity in sport.

Thinking about this, I don't mind pundits during a live broadcast saying their piece but why the BBC fork out so much to ex pros to give their opinions on highlights that I've just watched is beyond me. I know Alan, Gary, Ian etc etc I've just seen it.

There are many more important issues than this to protest about.

I'm not sure why football has jumped on this particular bandwagon.

Child slave labour, sexual exploitation and hunger is much more serious ...

... but perhaps not trendy enough.

Obviously racism still a massive issue in football and society in general, but this taking the knee malarkey is not making things better.

Racism will never end and that's an absolute fact.

So, that surely means taking the knee can never end.

If it does end, and racism continues, can anyone tell me what the point of it was.

An effort to make things better. Misguided, but an effort all the same.
