Agogo and Barrett are not registered for the remainder of the season, Jaakkola should start training in about 2 weeks and can be swapped for either Jordi Van Stapperschoef or Joe Day under the current rules. The club have only registered 21 players so they can sign 1 unnatached / free agent player who is without a club irrespective of age

 

According to Wales online Joe Ledley is training with Bristol Rovers in hopes of getting a contract

 

Good news. He’s quality, a hugely experienced holding midfielder and we have been lacking a decent beard since Stuart Sinclair left.

 

But do we have a spot available? Can only register 23 players. Will be interesting to see if we do have space because if we do, why haven't we got a striker yet?

 

We have one spot left in our squad. If there’s no decent strikers available to us then I reckon it makes sense to sign Ledley - he’s got a great range of passing at our level, reads the game well and has loads of experience which we need in the middle of the park.

And there’s the beard to factor in.

 

Ledley would be a good addition in my opinion even if it is just for the remainder of the season, he could be the catalyst to bind the back four together. Not too sure on the chin hair though ? What is it with blokes and beards ? Alright I suppose if you are off down to Rothera on a six month stint but hanging out in Blighty, nah, not for me.

 

Posted on here last week about the arbitration ruling overturning the wage cap imposed at the beginning of the season wondering if this now affects the 22 player registration total

 

He would be decent for us for sure. I just prefer another striker. As Bluebaldee said, if there is no good striker available then may as well get Ledley.

I wonder who missed out on the squad of 23 then as we have more than 23 players over 21.

Does anyone know what happened with Ledley? Is he still training with us?

 

I believe I read somewhere (Evil Post on line I think), a few days ago that Rovers had decided not to pursue with Ledley as a potential addition to the squad. No reason given but I got the impression the club felt he needed more game time/league experience/fitness etc in order to have been considered.

 

I read the same article hopefully we can pick up a striker from somewhere instead
