Jankewitz would have been the natural replacement for Oriol. A big chance for him to redeem himself too.
At the very minimum there should be at least 2 players for every position especially in the PL and that is ruining what could've been a promising season.
Absolutely spot on, that. You don’t recover confidence after a 9-0 tonking that easily. That Wolves game could have been a turning point, losing that has really hurt us imo...
I said to my lad, oooh, looking forward to seeing Big Al now, after his shift show v Utd. I had to rub me eyes when Moussa sprinted on, and went to the left of the park.
Don't think anyone's questioning effort are they? The mentality is terrible though, absolutely no spine whatsoever to dig in when things are going against us, and a big lack of leaders on the pitch. It's why we lost nine nil twice, the team is weak as piss.
Silly thought but I wonder if he had put Jankewitz on for Romeu, whether he would have done better, having a point to prove? Just a whimsy.
Or covered the space that Oriol vacated. Madness, utter ****ing madness from Ralph. Seriously, ive been going on about Macca, we simply have to try something different in goal.
Struggle to put the finger on exactly what is wrong. On the face of it we aren’t playing that different to when we were top of the table - injuries aside. Just how much of our problems are in the minds of the players? We had awful home form when fans were in the stadium, we’ve lost 9-0 2 seasons in a row, and we seem to collapse when a big decision goes against us. Any one of those things on it’s own could be shrugged off as coincidence but it does seem to be a worrying trend that we are too fragile collectively. On a positive I suppose that should in theory be a fixable problem rather than our players simply not being skilfully up to it.
If we were on 25 points I'd be worried. 30 points is fine. I think 35 will be enough this year and we are close enough to not panic
Maybe yeah, bu we have 1 victory and 1 draw is about 11 games. Worse if you count after the Pool game. Our form is simply awful. So whilst we need maybe 5-7 points, it is hard seeing where they are going to come from.
Not picking a fight with you, but where is this confidence coming from? There are several posters on here adamant we'll be fine, why? How? The team is a **** show, what is going to change? Because if its other teams not picking up points then Fulham are nicely putting that idea to the burner, so where is this confidence coming from? KWP? Yeah he's a great player but he's not going to carry us through.
You need 2 players for each position, but not necessarily 22 players... if you see what I mean? You just need to have a few players that can cover a couple of positions, such as Walcott as a AM or ST. Would be good if we had back up full back that can play LB & RB for example.
We will get them from where we least expect it. Nearly pulled off all 3 against Chelsea etc. However, we need to start next season well again as if we hadn't this year we'd be screwed.
If he sanctioned the decision to let go of our only back ups at FB then I agree but the club is financially in trouble that is clear. He has proved to be a good manager for the best part of 2020 and I'm worried that another manager wouldn't be able to get as much out of this squad that he has but results have to get better that is clear. 11th place was an achievement with this squad but we are still paying too much in wages for players not within it any longer.
