My 8 year old twins are starting to get really decent at footy now. Ive taken them to 2 Sunderland games and constantly take them out on the field to play but theyve literally had no interest up until now. Its a shame because my first Safc game will stay in my mind forever. 1987 1-1 against Wallsall in Div 3. We had over 10k fans at Roker and i always remember the feeling i had getting to that top step inside the stadium and seeing the illuminous Green pitch with all the fans. I was about the same age as my lads are now and ive been hooked from that day on..
We had nowhere near 40k in Roker that season mind. Biggest crowd was less than 30k against Northampton. We couldn't fit 40k in Roker by then
Ffs 30k then. Who gives a feck man, im writing a thread about my lads. Ffs theres some right serious kunts on here now!
I cant believe youve actually Googled that. This thread was about my lads, i couldn't really give a feck about the attendance, the image in my mind as a kid was a full house.
Nice photo Tees! When things are back to normal I'm sure you'll be able to take them to some amazing games and they'll love it. I took my daughter to her first SAFC game just before the pandemic struck. Its a losing battle though as the Mrs took her to West Ham game just before that and she now tells me she's hammer. I think she just does it to wind me up though! Your lads will have great memories of SAFC- they'll be able to start going regularly just when we're on the up again!
Thanks mate, this was the kind of response I wanted when i wrote this. Unfortunately we've gained some right nob heads on here now since the RTG lot joined
I dont even mind being corrected but dont be a kunt about it. I put the attendance down based off being a kid and seeing a full stadium. The thread wasnt even about that. The fact that you have completely overlooked what it was about and jumped on the fact i got the attendance completely wrong goes to show what a saddo you are. Ive put a pic on of my boys and youve shot me down after. That is a personal insult to me and so wrong.
I don't always say anything but it always makes me smile when you post about your lads. You and I have had some similar experiences so I think I know where you're coming from
Thanks mate, you're one of the decent lads on here. Yes i think we do have similar experiences. My lads are my world and to have a thread about them spoilt makes me angry
Can we just say great to see the two lads about to follow in their dad’s footsteps, into a life of expectation, hope and ultimately despair.
